Chapter 1
Short Family History
Rogue Kazuo-Maranzano and Amara Javier got married and have two kids, twins to be exact. They named them Ronin Amadeus Maranzano and Reika Agnese Maranzano. The family expected one boy and one girl as that was the initial result when they got an ultrasound.
The twins are the heirs of the largest and most powerful Mafia in the world, as their father reunited the Yakuza, a Japanese Mafia from his mother's side, and the Maranzano, one of the five families in the Italian Mafia. Their father, known as the "Red Wolf," is feared not only in the underworld but also by governments and the public. After all, he was labeled as the most wanted and notorious criminal that ever existed. Meanwhile, their mother is a granddaughter and the lost heir of the Chenskaya Bratva, a powerful Russian Mafia.
Their family enjoyed a low-key life. The mother of the twins ensured that the twins would live a peaceful life away from the harm and violence of the world they belong to. However, things were bound to change.
When the twins were born, the family was confused as both were girls, contrary to the ultrasound result. Although the sex of the children was not the issue, the family was just confused and shocked because the firstborn was a unique and beautiful child in terms of her eyes and birthmark. She was named Ronin Amadeus Maranzano. Their parents stuck with the planned name as it had already been passed down to the entire Mafia. Meanwhile, the second twin, named Reika Agnese Maranzano, seemed to have normal eyes and didn't have a birthmark. She was a normal, beautiful baby.
Ronin Amadeus is a beautiful baby just like her twin sister. The only difference is that her birthmark on the left eye is evident, resembling her father's wolf-claw scar. Also, her eyes are completely different colors, with a hazel eye on the right and a blue eye on the left. Meanwhile, her twin sister has both hazel eyes.
The family had Baby Ronin undergo a complete medical checkup and tests. The doctors found that the ultrasound radiation might not have provided a clear image, hence it wasn't able to detect that the child was a girl.
In terms of the eyes and birthmark, the doctor said that birthmarks are common in children, especially since their occurrence may be inherited. Some marks may also resemble those on other family members. The family understood the situation of Baby Ronin, as in the Yakuza bloodline, birthmarks that look like scars are common.
As for the eyes, the doctor explained that Ronin has complete heterochromia, where one iris is a different color from the other.
Heterochromia is a rare eye condition, with less than 1% of the population having different colored eyes. Most cases of congenital heterochromia (meaning the condition is present at birth) are passed down from parent to child via an autosomal dominant trait, meaning only one parent needs to have a mutated gene to pass on the trait.
