The Sail

The Sail.
I woke up but there were no golden rays spread across my face, it was so quiet it felt like I was stranded on an isolated island I walked up to the window and saw nothing but few homeless people shrivelled up in their blankets to cover from the cold, the street was empty and shops were closed.
^weekend?, is it a weekend?^
Then it hit me, today’s Saturday and I was going to start the first day on the j-
“-ob!, shit! I’m late”
^do I need break fast?, no no I don’t have time for that I gotta go now^
I rushed out of my room and skipped some steps of the stairs on my way  to the front door.
“Hirsi, did you have a good night?” bilan asked as I was rushing out
“Yeah it was good, thanks” I replied as I tried to put my other arm in my jacket’s sleeve.
I decided to speed things up by using Adrenaline to catch up on time, as I was speeding through the tow-, city, I saw the irresistible central tower that touched the clouds.

Two minutes later
*Peep*
I placed my ID on a sphere then It glowed green as the doors opened.
I saw the instructor smoking a cig while leaning on a piller.
“Your late, come the others are waiting for you” the instructor greeted me with blazing eyes.
He walked me to a room with a long table in the centre and chairs spaced around it, there were two men, one sitting on a chair with his legs on the table the other was looking out the window.
^wow, is that a Geris?  he’s big I wonder if he’s packing something big as well^
“Where’s Julie?” the instructor asked
“She aint here yet, Brono” the man sitting on the chair replied, then added “who’s the new kid?”
“he’s not a kid and he’ll be the one replacing Amy”
“Brono... no one replaces Amy” the man hissed
“Come on mike, we dont have to put ourselves at risk just cuz you won’t let go of Amy”
Mike stood up and walked up to Brono then whispered in his ear
“Listen Brono, if you ever again say that amy’s dead ill be the one who’ll be announcing your death”
*Crack* *Smash*
Mike and Brono quickly turn to look
The Geris standing  beside the window was pushed back with the window’s broken shards all over him.
“fucking hell!!, Julie next time you pull this shit ima snap your neck” the Geris shouted while grinding his teeth.
“calm down thorn, the window will be fixed and you can’t possibly be hurt by some broken glass, or have you grown weak after your sweat wife passed away?” Julie throned him down with last statement.
“Brono!, I’m sorry but this bitch’s gonna die today” thron raised his huge fists ready to wrap his hands around Julie and snap her neck, but Brono soon intervened.
“Hey!” all eyes were on Brono now. Then he pulled me by the arm.
“this is your is the new recruit, while we’re still waiting for  Amy's recovery , he’ll be the navigator and lone infantry for this mission and on”, “And Julie please shut the fuck up and take a seat, thron put your hands down before I cut them down and Mike, I’m your cap’n so the next time you try to threaten me it’ll be your last”
Brono pointed to a seat indicating for me to sit down then the others followed suit. He walked across the room till the end then snapped his fingers.
*wooshhhhhh*
A white plain canvas slowly dipped from the ceiling then hang  behind him ,he then clapped his hands and the broken window was quickly sealed off and the lights were off.
Brono took in a deep breath.
“as I said we have a new temporary recruit,  and he’ll be perfect for this mission he’s part will be to navigate you guys to the RIFT VALLEY situated in the STORM OCEAN down south. Before you start questioning his capabilities I myself and the link confirmed yesterday that he’s capable, he’ll not engage in any combat if it breaks out, he’ll only be your compass. Next, Julie you’ll be the sniper of the team just watch out for any other individuals or organisations around the area. Thron you’ll be the extra pair of hands and the guardian of the ship, DON’T LEAVE THE SHIP NO MATTER WHAT! Keep that in mind last but not least Mike your the co-captain like usual just don’t fuck it up like last time” Brono stopped to stare down Mike for his reply.
“I won’t” Mike said with bitterness in his voice
“good, now the main objectives of this mission are the ores, and you guys will be retrieving them from the RIFT and be the security for the mining team, you’ll be accompanied by the captain of the ship, her name’s Manda and I’ll need you guys to respect her orders cuz she’s the one who called up the link for the this mission, and if you guys fuck it up then we’ll fuck you up, this means no pay for the next two weeks but if you succeed there’ll be 400erts in cash under your name... each”
The guys looked gloomy before but now their eyes were filled with passion.
^400erts...., fuck thats alot i could- i-, i cant even think straight sheeesh^
Brono had a smug on his face the open his mouth
“And of course I’ll be getting paid as well so if you fail, I’ll have to personally deal with you”
“The ship will land at Glaivers Port at around seven o’clock, we have thirty-five minutes to prepare, get up and get ready” everyone stood up and walked out the door and I followed them behind but Julie decided to go through the window she came in with.
Everyone walked their separate ways and I was left standing outside the main door.
^I’ll just go and wait at the port, I have nothing else to do anyways^
