The sudden realization of Hinata's departure hit Kageyama like a gust of cold wind. He watched in disbelief as the newcomer turned and ran towards the exit. A mixture of confusion and disappointment welled up within him, his heart clenching at the abrupt departure. He stood there for a moment, frozen in place, as if the world had suddenly lost its color without Hinata's presence. The weight of his absence was palpable, reminding him of the emptiness he had lived with before their chance encounter.
"Wait!"
Kageyama followed Hinata down the stairs, his heart pounding in his chest as he called out, "Wait!" His voice echoed through the grand entrance of the castle, desperation lacing his words. But it seemed like fate was playing a cruel trick on him, for no matter how fast he ran, he couldn't seem to catch up to Hinata.
As he reached the bottom of the stairs, Kageyama's gaze fell upon Hinata's forgotten shoe lying on the cobblestones. The sight filled him with a mix of confusion and longing.
Kageyama stood there, his chest heaving and his expression a mixture of frustration and longing. He couldn't believe that he had let the newcomer slip away so easily. Gathering his thoughts, he turned to the guards who flanked him and issued a command with a note of urgency.
"Follow him!" Kageyama barked, his voice firm and resolute. "Find out who that mystery man was and bring him back to the castle immediately!"
The guards nodded obediently, quickly mounting their steeds and spurring them into action. The sound of hooves clattering against the cobblestones filled the air as they raced after Hinata's carriage, determined to fulfill their prince's command.
As the guards disappeared into the night, Kageyama stood there for a moment, replaying the evening's events in his mind. He couldn't shake the feeling that he had just let something precious slip through his fingertips, and he knew deep down that he would not rest until he found Hinata once again.
Kageyama kneeled down, his fingers tracing the intricate design of the glass slipper. It was delicate and shimmering in the soft light, almost as if it held a part of Hinata's magic inside it.
A sigh escaped his lips as he looked at the shoe, his mind swirling with thoughts of the mysterious newcomer who it belonged to. The image of Hinata's face, his sparkling eyes and the sound of his laughter, was still fresh in his mind.
He clutched the shoe tightly in his hands, a silent promise forming in his heart. He would find Hinata, no matter what it took. And he would ensure that he returned this precious glass slipper to its rightful owner, and maybe, just maybe, it would lead him straight back to Hinata's side.

Hinata, inside the carriage, was a whirlwind of emotions. As the carriage rocked along the cobblestones, he couldn't help but feel exhilarated. He had just spent an evening dancing and talking with the most handsome prince in the kingdom, an experience he thought would only ever exist in fairytales.
"That was... incredible," he whispered to himself, the thrill of the night still coursing through his veins.
He leaned back against the plush upholstery, a small smile playing on his lips as he replayed the events of the night in his mind. He couldn't believe that he had waltzed with the prince like royalty themself, had talked and laughed like old friends. It was all so surreal, as if it had been ripped straight from a fairytale.
Suddenly, a thought occurred to him, and his expression dropped. His glass slipper! In the commotion, he had left it behind at the palace!
Suddenly, he felt the carriage around him start to crumble. Hinata's eyes widened in shock as the carriage began to morph and distort. He gripped the edges of his seat, unable to believe what was happening. The plush upholstery and fine wood turned into the rough flesh of a pumpkin, and the comfortable ride became bumpy and unsteady.
"What... what's happening?!" he gasped, trying to make sense of the bizarre transformation.
Quickly, Hinata knew he had to escape the carriage-pumpkin before he got squashed!
Hinata landed on his feet, stumbling slightly as the realization of what had happened sank in. His carriage was now a mere pumpkin, his elegant clothes had vanished, and his horses had turned into mice scurrying away. It was all apart of his deal with his fairy godmother. He looked down at himself, seeing his familiar, tattered clothes.
The only remnant of his magical night was the glass slipper clutched in his hand, a shimmering beacon of the fantastical evening he just had.
Hinata's heart sank as he realized the extent of the magic's limitations. He had almost forgotten that everything was just an illusion, and now, he was back to his ordinary life. The clock on the church chimed, signaling midnight, and he knew the night was over.
With a heavy sigh, Hinata glanced down at the glass slipper in his hand, the memories of the night he'd just had swirling in his head. He wondered if he'd ever have the chance to repeat those magical moments again.
The image of Prince Kageyama's handsome face and their waltz around the ballroom haunted Hinata's thoughts. He relived every moment, every laugh, and every touch between them. The memory of that evening was like a dream, a beautiful and captivating dream he never wanted to wake up from.
Hinata's steps grew slower and his smile waned as he reached the front door of his house. He knew reality awaited him inside, and he reluctantly returned to his ordinary life, his glass slipper clutched tightly in his hand.
