Fifteen

At the bar, Jace glared at the vampire that was flirting with his Callie. He didn't like someone touching and flirting with what is his. Yet, Callie looked at him with uncomfortableness and he knew that she wasn't comfortable with the vampire. Smiling at Jace, she was reassuring him that she was okay and trying to find a way to save Simon and Clary.

Having enough of the vampire's flirting, he walked over causing the vampire look at Jace. "I'm okay, Jace."

"You heard the lady." The vampire tells Jace as he pushed him.

Callie to look at him shock. "Jace?' She tells him.

"Stay right there, Callie. Don't move." He tells her as he fought back just to appear in front of her behind the vampire. "You, Romeo."

The vampire looked at them just for him to punch him causing Callie to stare in shock. "Jace, we have company." She tells him as he looked at the vampires gathering around.

"Hang on tight, baby." He tells her as he got on the motorcycle and drove off with them getting chased.

Callie held on as she screamed out enjoying herself. She never been on one before, but she's having a time of her life. "Why did you do that to me?"

"I couldn't exactly dig around in his pockets for keys." He tells the blonde.

"So, you were going to let him turn me..."

"You wasn't under his control. You have more angel blood than what we thought. He couldn't even get into your mind like he thought." Jace tells her. "You just played along."

Callie looked at him. "Did you get jealous?"

Jace didn't say a word till he changed the subject. "Hold on tight, this thing runs on demon blood."

"Then why the hell did you picked this one?" She asked as she held on tight.

"This one was modified."

"Okay, but we still have to find Clary and..."

"Simon." He says. "Yes, we'll find them." Feeling how tight she was holding on had him smiling. "You got a good grip?"

"I'm sure you feel me holding you tight, Jace." She tells him. "So stop asking."

Jace laughed as she laughed. They were having a great time riding and Callie didn't want it to just end. "Why didn't you do this in the first place, Jace?" She asked.

Mike saw Izzie and heard her telling Alec about being a distraction knowing she had to do things that he didn't like, but they aren't together. Izzie saw Mike and smiled as she went to him, but he just walked away. "He heard." She says looking at her brother hurt.

"He knows what you have to do, but I think that he really likes you."

Izzie sighed as she went to be ready for Callie and Jace's return.

"That thing that he tried to do to you at the party is called an encanto." He tells her. "That was just the first step." Callie let him do whatever he was doing. "It's kind of like what a cobra does to a mouse right before it strikes."

"He plays." She tells him as he was making sure she wasn't under the encanto, but she wasn't.

"This will keep you safe." He points at a mark on her causing her to look at it. "Just in case you run into Mr. Fascinating again."

"I never want to run into him again. I hated the flirt he was doing." She tells him.

"Give me your arm." He tells her as he took her arm.

"Jace, do you think Clary and Simon are alive?"

"Yeah." He tells her.

She gasped in pain and looked at him. "What is that?"

"The vamps won't hear us coming, but we can't disguise the scent of our blood from them." Jace simply tells her. "Once we enter the building through there, they'll know something's up."

"If they don't already know." She tells him.

"But if our plan works, we'll have time to find your sister and Simon. If Clary is here.' He tells her. "The mundane world is all into vampires.'

"Okay, but I don't understand that." Callie tells him as Jace grabbed her hand.

"They see everyone else as an animated sack of meat." Jace explains to her.

"Well, that's definitely not a romance novel." She responds.

"That's cause now you know it's all real." He tells her. "Still, you gotta hand it to them, though. They know how to frame a narrative."

Callie nodded in agreement that the did do a good job. "So.. how do we find Simon and Clary?"

"If Clary is with Simon, they'll be in the most secure room in the building." He tells her. "Trust me, we'll know it when we see it."

One thing popped in her head. "What if they do a encanto on them? Will they turn?" She asked. "And yes, that is a stupid question, but I'm still learning this life."

Jace smiled. "It's okay. I know you are and I'm going to help you." He tells her. "But to answer your question, no. You have to drink vampire blood for that." She nods. "Even then, there's more to it." Callie had a bad feeling what that could be. "It's an overly involved process, if you ask me."

"Okay." She tells him. "So what if they bite?"

"They won't drain them. They are more gourmet." She nods.

"Okay, will they be scared about the situation or not?"

"Actually, he'll feel kind of high, kind of like he's in love." He tells her.

Callie nods again as she was processing all this information. "So they'll feel like that with the one who bit him?"

"Yeah." He says as he got a little closer to her.

"Simon must be having the time of his life." She replies. "Knowing him and pretty girls."

Jace looked at her as he got closer to her. Callie leaned forward as their lips touched. She smiled as she couldn't believe that they finally kissed. Pulling back, Jace kept his forehead on hers. "I wouldn't know, till now."

"You've never been bitten." She says as he looked at her. "You've never been in love."

"Till now."

The blonde looked at him as she knew it was her that he was talking about. "Me?" She questioned. "I've never been in love myself, but I would like to know you, Jace besides you helping me with the shadowhunting part."

Jace smiled. "I'll know you while we do this, but the point about the bite, it wears off. Just like love."

"It's according to who you fall in love with. That person has to treat you right and love you unconditionally. If they don't, they never loved you." She tells him. "That's why I never dated. I want someone to love me like I would love them." She sighed.

"What's the deal with Clary and that guy anyway?"

Callie laughed as she knew. "Simon likes Clary as for me and Mike. He's like a brother to me. We never had any romantic feelings for one another like Simon does Clary." She tells him. "What now?"

Jace wrapped his arm around her as she looked up at him. "We'll figure it out. Together."

"Together."
