AN: I can't believe how many people have read/liked this. Thank you so much! sorry for taking a few days to update this but like I said I only had the first 5 chapters written and the rest were just outlined/planned. Also, if you didn't read what I posted yesterday on my profile page, I just got assigned a dissertation supervisor who gave me a list of like 15 books I need to read before the 15th of July so the time between updates might be longer as the story goes on, but I swear I have it planned and some of it is written. Also, btw in this universe the VMA thing happens in 2013.

June 2016

She hides in Nashville. As soon as the phone call is leaked, she packs up their New York apartment that they moved into last year and is driven to her plane at 3 AM when her security assures her that there are no paparazzi hanging around outside. Theo is half asleep, still disoriented from her waking him up in the middle of the night and telling him they're going to see Penny and Abigail and Grandma and uncle Austin and isn't that exciting. He knows though, he might be just 8 years old, be he knows something terrible has happened because his mom looks anxious and sad and like she's been crying and for the first time in his life, he hates what his mom does for a living. She always looks so happy when she's on stage, smiling and singing and he knows she loves it, but he also knows that she hates that she can't pick him up and drop him off from school without a gaggle of men with cameras following her and asking her cray questions. She was against him going to school, she wanted him homeschooled, but he threw a tantrum the likes of which she has never seen, and she caved, so now he goes to school with Alex, his bodyguard, who walks around the school hallways between classes and sats at a table in the corner of the cafeteria when it's time for lunch. Theo feels sorry for him because he's pretty sure no adult wants to spend most of their days at an elementary school unless they're teachers.

The first day in Nashville is one of the worst days in her life. They land at about 5:30 AM and she think she's safe. She'll drive to her mom's place, stay there for a few days until the apartment is cleaned because it's been months since she's been here and then she and Theo will move into the apartment until things settle. It's summer, so she doesn't have to worry about school but if she can't go back to New York, she'll transfer him to a school here.

She thinks she's safe. Except she isn't, because they somehow know, they somehow find out because some of them might've been there in New York and seen her leave the apartment and figured out exactly where she's headed and told people. The airfield where she lands is swarmed and there are cars and bikes getting ready to follow her car because she's only arranged for one car to get her to her mom's house. She didn't think there would be anyone here, she didn't think they would find them, and she knows that the tabloids must be offering a ridiculous amount of money for the first picture of her after the call fiasco because the amount of people at the airfield is insane.

"I'm sorry Taylor, we've tried to clear them but it's not working. I've tried calling the local police, see if they can send a car or something to at least drive with us, keep them away but apparently, they can't spare anyone, and they don't think the situation calls for it." Paul, the head of her security tells her with an eyeroll, after the spending 2 hours just sitting inside the airplane after they land hoping that if she doesn't leave the plane they'll get discouraged and leave but they don't, so she sighs, puts a hoodie on Theo and tells him to put the hood on and run to the car as soon as the airplane door opens and he does just that. She walks slowly behind him with her own hoodie on hoping they'll focus all their cameras on her and not her son. She can hear them even if they're far enough, they scream loud enough.

"Hey Taylor, how does it feel to be exposed as a liar to the whole entire world?"

"Would you sleep with Kanye?"
