The whole day felt off-kilter. Kainat was acting strange, and Avyaan seemed out of sorts too. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was going on, and the fact that these two were involved only made it more suspicious. But the thing that gnawed at me the most was Kanav. His so-called "babe" had called him non-stop since morning, at least six times!
Jealousy clawed at me. It wasn't a little crush anymore; I genuinely liked Kanav. But a knot of insecurity tightened in my stomach. Was I just skeptical, or was something deeper holding me back? My feelings for him were intensifying with each passing day, yet a strange apprehension lingered.
I couldn't pinpoint it, but a disquieting undercurrent swirled within me.
*flashback*
Earlier that day, I'd blurted out a question that left even me bewildered. "Kanav?" I called out to him.
"Yeah?" he replied, inviting further conversation.
"What if someone ever fell in love with you?" The question tumbled out of me completely unprompted.
His brow furrowed in confusion. "Why so random?"
"Nothing," I mumbled, forcing a smile.
My internal monologue screamed at me. How could I have asked such a thing out of the blue? He must think I'm a total weirdo! "Argh, Ahana, you are so dumb!" I chastised myself. I desperately needed a distraction. All this overthinking was making me babble nonsense.
We decided on a sightseeing trip, with the beach as one of our destinations. Kainat, predictably, opted out of joining us in the water. Periods – they're the worst, especially on vacations. But hey, there's nothing we can do about Mother Nature's schedule.
As for Kanav, well, let's just say he stole the show. He decided to ditch his shirt, and my heart did a double take. This man was breathtaking. His toned abdomen, sculpted without being overly bulky, was on full display. His smile, his eyes, everything about him radiated an irresistible charm. Even his arms, with their prominent veins, seemed to hold a magnetic pull. There wasn't a single detail, not his cute nose or anything else, that didn't leave me mesmerized.
He started playing volleyball with some of the guys, his movements fluid and graceful. My gaze followed him like a lost puppy. The way his muscles rippled beneath his skin with each spike and dig sent shivers down my spine. A playful competitiveness flickered in his eyes, making him look even more captivating.
*flashback ends*
We were heading back to our villa, not that I wanted to peek but I saw him talking to his babe. There was a wide smile on his face which was probably because of her. Ahana calm down, he doesn't know your feelings and he won't until and unless you plan to voice it out.
