AVYAAN RAWAT

*A day before the proposal*

I'm here at my firm. It's been a while since I attended the meetings. The trip was a blast.

I was here waiting for my next client to come. It's a case of murder and abuse.

Aavi Bhaiya's engagement was fixed next week. And Bhaiya started going bonkers as he couldn't find the ring he wanted...

Typical Bhaiya behavior.

Anyways, the client is taking a little too long to arrive. Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door, "Yes, come in."

"I'm sorry, I just got stuck up with the traffic," She apologized. What is Kainat doing here?

"Chipmunk?" She was as shocked as me. "What are you doing here?" I asked her.

"I wanted to file a case against Mr. and Mrs. Suryawanshi," She explained. I told her to take a seat.

Mr. and Mrs. Suryawanshi? Who's that - oh, wait, her parents, so she wasn't joking around when she said thar she'll file a lawsuit against them.

They deserve it anyway.

"Tell me about the incident and scenario," I asked her for the details.

She hesitated for a moment, her eyes welling up with tears. "I was only six years old when it happened. It was Diwali, and the whole family had gathered at Chacha's place. My Chacha, Chachi, their son Ritvik, and a few of their friends were there. I remember Papa - I mean, Mr. Suryawanshi, alsoChacha's business partner, asked him about the property division. Chacha vehemently denied any such discussion, insisting that the property was his hard-earned money and Mr. Suryawanshi had never contributed to the business. The argument escalated, and they fought bitterly.

A few days later, we received the devastating news of their untimely demise. I was heartbroken, as they were the only family I had ever known. My own parents and sister had always been distant and uncaring.

One night, late at night, I went to the kitchen to get some water. As I crept through the darkness, I overheard a conversation that shattered my world. Two figures, their voices muffled, were discussing the incident. They revealed the horrifying truth: they had orchestrated the deaths of my Chacha, Chachi, and Mr. Suryawanshi, making it appear like an accident. They had planned it all, eliminating obstacles to their greed for the property.

The revelation was a shock to my young mind. I felt a deep sense of betrayal and despair. The world, as I knew it, crumbled around me. I contemplated ending my life, and one day, I even climbed to the rooftop of our building, ready to jump. But then, Shivi, intervened. She talked me down, offering me solace and support. From that day on, she and her family became my true family, the only ones who truly cared for me."

As she finished her harrowing tale, her tears flowed freely. I was overcome with a mix of anger and sadness. I couldn't believe the depths of human cruelty. I stepped towards her and hugged her tightly, abandoning any pretense of professionalism. Fvck professionalism, I can't be professional around her in any aspect.

Despite our differences, I couldn't bear to see her in pain.

"Chipmunk, I hate them. I want them to feel what I felt all these years. You need to get them severely punished for their deeds. Can you?" She asked me with tears filled eyes.

"Yes, they'll get what they deserve."

She sniffed and wiped her tears, I passed her a glass of water after taking a seat beside her.
