Bailey

Jolting awake, I gripped the bed sheets hard between my fingers. I blinked away the tears from my eyes, trying to wipe the memories away, the pack house on fire, the members, burning and fighting. The most painful part was my brother.

Micah and I ran away. It all seemed to come back at the most randomest times. It's starting to get a bit tiresome. No one wanted to relive the same dream over and over again.

I sure didn't.

I unhanded the bed sheets and just laid there, looking at the swirly ceiling. If someone had told me that I would be on the human side of the world, amongst them and going to a human school, I would have called them a liar.

The first day out of the hospital, I met Alex, the alpha was so sweet, and my mate. Other than the bad dreams at night, my day dreams about him were even better.

His tall frame, big strong arms, deep voice, and best of all his eyes. Maybe it had something to do with the colour, or maybe it was the mole that was underneath, I couldn't tell.

His smile was pretty, too.

That day, Alex assured me that his mate, which was also technically my mate as well, Cameron wanted to come but couldn't.

I wanted to believe that, but I didn't.

Alex gave me a key, a stack of books, some papers, documents, and so on. He told me I would be going to school and would work in a nearby pet store after college.

A wolf going to school, I found that funny and so did Snow.

Today was officially the first day, and it was off to a great start. Note the sarcasm.

I untangled myself from the sheets, getting up, and placed my feet on the cold floor that sent a wave of tingles throughout my body.

I was placed in this small room by myself since Micah was almost 23, and he had no reason to go to school. Alex insisted that he worked at the pet shop full time while I went to school.

Beyond my better judgment, I agreed to everything he told me to do. I didn't want to go to school, but no one wanted to go to school. My school days in the pack were spent scratching my head and picking my nails when they called on me.

I did, however, like art.

Everything we do is art, and I loved it all. Painting, drawing, building little models, dancing, and even playing a sport that was art. Singing and so much more. Once you can do something and do it well, that is your art.

I wanted to do everything. I wanted to be art.

That is why I am now enrolled in the arts department. That alone made me a bit more excited about the first day of human school.

I got up and dragged myself across the room towards the adjoining bathroom, which already had enough supplies for me.

After I took care of my personal hygiene, I made my way back into the room and got dressed for the day. I opened the door, seeing a large gift bag on the floor with a piece of paper with my name written in the middle of it.

I looked around, trying to find where it came from or who left it here. After finding nothing and hearing nothing, I hesitantly picked up the bag, bringing it inside with me.

Placing it on the table, I took a peek in the bag. On top of the colourful paper, there was a small folded white paper, so I took it up.

You will need these.
- Cameron.

My thumb ran over the neat handwriting as a smile broke out on my face. If anything, I expected it to be Alex. This made my day. He didn't hate me like I thought be did.
