Chapter 8
We are promised that the Lord will not forsake us in our tribulation as long as we remain faithful. Those who question His ways are not always ready for His answer. 'Thy will be done' should not be just uttered words.
Adagio St. John's Journal
With solemn yet hopeful hearts, we drive away from the beautiful home we inherited from my husband's grandparents, never looking back, only forward.
For many, it will be hard to leave their home, knowing they will never see it again.
Not so for us.
The problem with humans is we get so caught up in things, so attached to material possessions that we forget what is really important–what is most important.
When Adagio told me we needed to leave immediately, I did not question it. I just knew it must be so. We had showered and changed and packed one large suitcase, fitting what was necessary for the three of us. Adagio grabbed our 72-hour kits from the storage room–to which I added our scriptures–and told me arrangements would be made to bring the rest of the food and supplies because they would be needed.
We awakened our son and explained that Heavenly Father wanted us to leave. Dagio asked where we were going and we told him the Lord would lead us. He quickly dressed.
Loading our backpacks, suitcase, thick sleeping bags rolled up in foam mats, and the large, all-weather tent into the vehicle, we turned off all the lights and locked up the house and said a prayer for a safe journey.
Since Adagio was counseled to leave all phones and electronics (we would not have a signal where we were going anyway) I tearfully text Greg to let him know we left. I don't give him an explanation, I only say we had to leave. I tell him how sorry we are and we hope to see him again. Pushing the "send" button breaks my heart, but there is no choice.
As we drive off, Adagio gives my hand a squeeze.
"Will we see him again?" I ask.
"I don't know, amore. If it is God's will."
Please let it be thy will, I silently pray. Please, Father.
Then the Savior whispers peace to my heart and my emotions calm.

Greg
The images in Greg's dreams are disturbing and his sleep is uneasy.
Peace, comes the Lord's soft voice, instantly calming him. Let your mind be at peace. I have a work for you to do. And all will be well.
