"Jessica!"

"Coming Dad!"

I hurried downstairs, fumbling for my MetroCard. I like to be prepared, but that doesn't mean that I'm very organized.

"What are you doing?," Dad questioned dramatically.

"Looking for my MetroCard." I knew what was coming.

"I told you not to use that wallet. It's useless. You little fumble-master."

We both smiled. He did tell me that, but I used my zebra-striped wallet anyway.

"Ok, have it your way. By the way, you don't need it this morning. I'm going to drop you off at school. It's pouring outside. I have to go to work after that so hurry up and eat your breakfast. I literally begged my boss to let me come in late."

"Ok." Oh, Dad. Always in a hurry. But I love him. He makes great food.

Mom rushes down the stairs. She gulped down her food, and was out the door after saying a quick "See ya later!"

Dad's voice traveled toward me. "Come on, Jessica."

The car whooshed by Pizza Hut, past the Museum, and into the school parking lot. School started at 8:30. I had 5 minutes.

"Have a great day, honey."

"Thanks Dad. You too." Great day, ha. My home life and my school life are totally different. They don't know that.
