I hesitated before taking his hand, him lifting me from the ground. I stumble a little, my clawed feet digging into the ground.
"You'll be a little dizzy from the summoning, come with me to my office." He smiles down at me as I look him in the eyes, "I'll make you some tea and fill you in on the band and Clergy."
Hand in hand, we start our walk to his office. The older woman waves us off.
We walked a little ways away, it took about ten or so minutes to get to his office from their summoning room. The walls were made of brick and marble, stained glass in some hallways and dim lights throughout the building.
We walk down a hallway that opened up, having 2 doors and a dead end. Copia guides me to the door on the left and let's go of my hand to fumble with a ring of keys.
"Ehh, give me a sec." He chuckles nervously as he flips through the keys.
I watch him curiously, surly he should know which key goes to his office. My head tilts and my tail dashes slowly as I place my hand to the door. A light humming, barely heard, but still there, when one of the keys toward the end turns a light purple.
He looks at me, a little taken aback. "Well, that's new." He smiles as he grabs the glowing key and unlocks the door.
He opens the door, letting me in first, following after me. I look around, checking my surroundings out.
"I'll get started on the tea, take a seat over there please." He gestures to a desk and a few chairs.
I walk to the chairs as I take in his docor, file cabinets behind the desk, a world map on the wall with destinations marked, a window letting bright light in, a small kitchen area, carpeted floor, dark green walls, and a few old paintings. It's quite cozy actually.
As I sit down he begins to speak again, "I'll start with introducing myself." I turn around and watch him fiddle with the tea, waiting for the water to boil. He spins around and smiles softly at me, "My name is Copia, but you can also call me Papa. I'm the lead singer of the band and the current Papa in charge. Sister Imperator is the leader of the Clergy after Papa Nihil passed." He shuffles around, getting two tea cups and a spoon.
As he pours the hot water into the tea cups with the tea bags, I decide to introduce myself as well.
"My names Clover... " I pause, "I'm from the Water pack and I'm a Magic Elemental, but I guess you already know that part now."
He walks over to me and hands me the tea while making his way to the seat behind his desk. I watch as he takes a sip and I do the same, it's warm and quite earthy.
"Yes, the woman that was with me during the summoning was Sister Imperator. She knows all she can and teaches herself on Ghoul Elements and behaviors." He places his hand on his desk as he leans over and takes a few papers from a drawer.
He places the papers down in front of me and I look down at them, there's a logo and giant lettering that says Ghost. On the bottom of the paper there's a group of Ghouls and Copia all together posing.
"Ghost is our band name, this group here are the Ghouls that are part of the band. The only ones not in the photo are Aurora and Phantom, as they were summoned before you got here and after this photo was taken." He explains to me.
I look down at the Ghouls, all of them definitely being from different backgrounds and packs. Feeling my ears droop once again, I really hope none of them are partial to the old ways.
I can feel him watching me before he speaks, "You seen worried. You can talk to me, I wouldn't be a very good Papa if not." He chuckles lightly.
My eyes dart up to him then slowly back down to the paper.
Might as well tell him, this is going to be home now.
I sigh, "My pack wasn't really fond of me being a Magic Elemental... I'm worried that these new Ghouls will have the same mindset." I look back at him as my tail tucks and wraps around my leg.
I watch as his mood changes to understanding, "I've known these Ghouls for many years now, and they've welcomed every new Ghoul with open arms. Don't let your old pack prevent you from making a home in this one." I feel my ears perk up a little.
"After we are done here, I will show you where your room is and show you the practice room and the places the Ghouls hang out at." He goes to grab more papers and talks some more about the band.
This will definitely be interesting to say the least. Back at home when we were young, my brother, dad, and I would sing together. Dad knew how to play the piano, however I didn't know how to play a thing.
We talk for a little while longer, Copia telling me of the different places in the building and grounds.
Before long he's taking me to show me where my room is. I follow him closely, still feeling a bit uneasy being in territory that is unknown to me.
We make a few twists and turns before we make it into a brightly lit hallway with a lot of doors. "This is where my Ghouls quarters are, this is where you'll be staying." He says as he walks to a door, pulling out a specific key this time and unlocking it.
The door creeks open, a large circular window in the middle of the wall, to the left a decent sized bed, to the right a desk and a couple chairs, and two other doors.
"This is your room, that door is your personal bathroom and that door is your closet." He pauses and looks back at me, "I always have a Ghoul take new Ghouls out to get stuff for their room, there's no budget and I allow you to get as much as you like so that you may feel a little more at home."
Home.
My only home was my brother.
I can feel my eyes tearing up, my face begins to flush. Copia turns around and seems a little shocked." Did I uhh, say something bad?" He asks me innocently.
I shake my head, "No, no you didn't... I just wish my brother was here. That's all."
He watches me with sympathy, "I understand that more than you know, it'll definitely take some getting used to. It's a big change and a whole new world to learn everything about."
Be places a comforting hand on my back and smiles softly at me. I wipe the tears from my face before he places the key in my hand and guides me to the next destination.
