3: Sing for Me

After walking through a couple more hallways Copia introduces me to the band room. There's a sound booth area and a practicing area with instruments, books, music sheets, and a record player.

He tells me which Ghoul plays which instrument and shows me the bands lyrics on some of the music sheets.

He makes his way to the sound booth area as I stand there, not really knowing what to do.

"I guess this would be a good time to let you know this, but I don't know how to play any instruments... " I pause and look in his direction, he waves his hand and makes a face of no worry. "I know how to sing though, but I guess that's kinda your job." I laugh lightly at the irony, being summoned to be part of a band when I can't play shit.

"That's not a problem dear, I have a couple of Ghouls who do backup vocals. I don't see why it would be an issue for you to join in on that." He looks up from what he's doing and focuses his attention on me, "Though I will definitely have to have you practice before hand and see how you sound."

Just as he finishes his sentence the door to the room opens, a Ghoul stepping in then freezing when they spot me. I do the same.

I feel dread fill my veins, he's a little short and has long hair. His tail long and fluffy at the tip.

I guess Copia notices my mood change and steps out of the booth, "Ah, hello Sodo." He greets the shorter Ghoul.

Sodos ear flicks as he raises his brow and turns his attention to Copia, "Who's that?" He says in an interested voice.

"This is Clover, she will be joining the band." Copia smiles at the Ghoul.

"Ah, another Earth Ghoul then." He guesses from my name, smirking a little as his eyes land back on me. That's when I feel my skin flush as I look away, my ears dropping.

I can see from the corner of my eye that his face turns to shock when noticing the color of my flush.

Great, this is way more embarrassing now. Fuck my heart is going to pump out if my Ghoulish chest.

Copia walks toward Sodo, talking quietly with him. I can see Sodos ears perk up and his tail wag, either with excitement or displeasure. I'm not sure of which.

"Alright, I guess I'll come back and practice later once you guys leave." I lift my head and watch as Sodo leaves.

Copia threads his fingers together and let's out a breath, "That was just Sodo, he's a Fire Ghoul. He's a bit of a hot head but once you get to know him I'm sure you'll get along just fine."

I look back up at him, giving him a small smile, my tail wrapped around my waist in a way to comfort me.

He snaps his finger and I see a look of excitement on his face, "How about I have you practice a song or two for me right now, it's a good way to calm nerves."

I tilt my head in curiosity, "Sure, I wouldn't mind. We had human music down in hell so if you have any of the instrumentals to anything I know already I should be able to do it."

He guides me to the music files they have on hand, I skim through them till I find the perfect one.

It was a song that I grew fond of over the many years of my life.

"Ah, that's a good one!" He seems excited as he goes to figit with a sound board and the music files.

I slowly make my way to the sound booth, putting the mic close to my face, the audio starts to fill the room.

Takeing a deep breath in, I start to sing.

"I feel unhappy,
I feel so sad.
I lost the best friend
That I ever had."

I take another deep breath before starting the next verse, a heavy feeling forming in my chest.

"She was my woman,
I loved her so.
But it's too late now,
I've let her go."

I feel the damn break loose, my face instantly flooding with hot tears. My aura glowing around me.

"I'm going through changes,
I'm going through changes.

We shared the years,
We shared each day,
In love together,
We found our way."

I can feel Copias excited energy from within the other room. And a few other emotions not coming from him, but somewhere else. I don't pay any mind to it though.

"But soon the world,
Had its evil way.
My heart was blinded,
Love went astray.

It took so long,
To realize.
And I can still hear,
Her last goodbyes."

Damn, maybe I shouldn't have chosen this song. Fucking waterworks.

"Now all my days,
Are filled with tears.
Wish I could go back,

I take a deep shaky breath to rebalance myself, I can hear Copia clapping his hands. "Yes, yes, that's more than perfect!"

I turn around while wiping my eyes, I chuckle a little bit, "Maybe I shouldn't have chosen that song." I open my eyes to see Copia full of excitement and a couple of Ghouls behind him full of excitement and curiosity.

I freeze a little when I spot them, feeling the hairs raise up on my whole body. That's an odd feeling, thats never happened before.

"Nonsense, music that makes you feel makes you who you are." He smiles softly at me, before he turns around and jumps at the sight of the other Ghouls.

"Swiss, Mountain, shoo shoo." He moves his hand in a 'go on get' motion. They run off, one of them taking a little longer, tilting their head at me before running off.

"Ehh sorry about that, Sodo must of told the others. I didn't tell them I was summoning another Ghoul." He rubs the back of his head, "Guess they're a little more excited than I thought they'd be. Don't worry about them though, Swiss is a multi Ghoul and Mountain is an Earth Ghoul."

He walks over to me and places a hand on my shoulder, "You feeling better?" I look at him tiredly.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Song just got to me a little and then I go surprised." I smile softly at him. I feel him pat my shoulder.

"It's getting late in the day, I'm sure you're tired. I'll take you to your room so you can retire for the night, tomorrow I'll introduce you to the Ghouls properly."

He guides me out of the practice room, leading me back to my personal room.

Tomorrow's going to be real bloody interesting.
