IT WAS ALREADY DARK by the time Kaori regained consciousness, she fluttered her eyes open to find herself tied tightly onto a wall.

Her arms and legs were spread open, tied so tightly that it looked as if she was magically super glued onto the white wall pressed against her back.

'Ugh.. my head feels so dizzy..' She thought silently, shutting her eyes almost instantly when a sharp pinging pain struck her head. She shook her head repeatedly until the dizziness she was feeling disappeared.

'Hm... where am I?' Kaori glanced around, spotting lit candles surrounding the floor below her. She widened her eyes when she regained full consciousness and awareness of her condition.

'My katana!' She glanced to the side, spotting her katana lying there - far away for her to reach. She tried moving her arms but to no use, the rope that tied her was nailed onto the wall pretty tightly.

"You should stop struggling. You won't escape out of here alive, little girl." A voice exclaimed, approaching from the shadows and towards the girl's view.

"You..! Why are you doing this!! We just want to save this village from the demon!!" Kaori shouts while the man figure in front of her chuckles.

"Ordinary slayers like you are nothing but normal humans to us. I am truly sorry but this is what the corps does right? Providing slayers to protect the normal citizens.." He smiles, walking around.

"Just tell me where the demon is. I promise you that me and my partner will be able to kill it! You haven't given us any chance to do so." Kaori complained.

"You both won't be strong enough to defeat our lord. He is the strongest. I've made the deal... to offer a female to him every month to ensure the village's safety..." He continued.

"I would've never thought that the slayers recruit such youngsters.. it's such a shame that we have to sacrifice a young soul.. I'm sure you'll understand, right?" He cocked his head, smiling at Kaori who kept trying to break through the rope.

'Muichiro-kun.. where are you??' She hissed in pain, glancing at the red and bruised stains on her wrist after trying to break through the ropes.

RUMBLE!!

"Oh.. I believe our lord will shortly arrive.. I will pray for you little girl, don't worry.. the boy will stay unharmed." Kamo informed, walking a bit further away from the plain white wall where Kaori was strapped on.

"Wait! What do you mean-"

A huge rumble quickly cut her questions, the rumbling was so hard that it almost felt like an earthquake to Kaori who was close to the source of the rumbles.

That's when two pairs of horns merge from under the water surface of the flowing river. Shortly after, two pairs of glowing yellow eyes appeared - glaring straight into Kaori's ruby-red eyes.

'Lower moon 7?? It's one of the twelve kizukis!!' Kaori thought, watching how the demon rose from the river water and up to land.
