IN THE END, Kaori and Muichiro successfully slayed the lower moon together without getting any heavy or serious injuries. Kaori looked around, searching for the sheath that she threw during battle.
Her eyebrows raised slightly when she spotted her familiar katana safety cap lying on the grass, untouched. She ran towards that area and picked it up, putting her katana blade in it before attaching it to her belt.
"So.. we are done here..?" Muichiro piped in, appearing behind Kaori who glanced behind to see Muichiro's unfazed look.
"Yeah, we should head back. It's almost dawn.." Kaori replied, glancing at the sky which had faint hues of orange that were going to envelop the darkness of the skies.
"Hmm... what about that scum there?" Muichiro exclaimed, pointing at Kamo who was trembling in fear after witnessing the fight between the two young slayers with the lower moon while hiding behind a big bush.
Kamo quickly noticed that both Kaori and Muichiro were looking straight at him, each having different expressions on their face. Muichiro gave him an icky look while Kaori stared him up and down.
"Ah! Forgive me for my idiotic actions-... I- I just wanted the safety of the village" He stuttered, jumping out from the bush and standing awkwardly in front of them.
'Yeah sure, what a loser.. I bet he underestimated our skills since we are youngsters!' Kaori narrowed her eyes, glaring slightly at the man who smiled awkwardly.
'Ish!! Just thinking about it makes me angry!! I wanna beat him up so badly but I can't because he is a normal human!!' She growled silently, glaring daggers at Kamo making him sweatdrop.
"Yeah okay, because I know some manners unlike someone, we'll dismiss your actions," Kaori exclaimed, forcing a fake smile.
"Thank-"
"No," Muichiro stated out loud, catching the two attention. "I'm not letting that scum's behavior go."
"Muichiro-kun. Just let it go. No need to cause a fuss over some stupid guy who is older than us, bigger than us but acts cowardly." Kaori purposely said out loud, leaning towards Muichiro.
"Funny, I can hear you guys you know.." Kamo chuckles awkwardly.
Muichiro stared at Kaori, his eyes brightening for those few seconds before glancing back at Kamo and then putting on his signature unfazed (don't care) look.
"Fine." The long-haired boy firmly replied, narrowing his hazy mint green orbs.
"Let's head back now. I'll treat you to some food like I promised before!" Kaori exclaimed, staring at Muichiro who noticed the small scratch on her cheek.
"No, we go to the butterfly lady's place first. You need to get that treated." He pointed out as Kaori wiped the small amount of blood streaming from the scratch.
"No need, it's just a small scratch- it's not that deep. I'll get it treated by myself-"
"No. We are going to the strange butterfly lady's place." He stated once again.
"Shinobu-san's place?"
"Yes, Shinubi's place."
"It's Shinobu. Shi - no - bu." Kaori corrected while Muichiro grabbed her hand, leading her away from their previous spot.
"Yeah, whatever," Muichiro muttered, leading her away for a few seconds before stopping, confusing the white-haired beauty.
"What's up?" She asked, peaking her head to look at Muichiro's expression.
"I forgot the way." He replied bluntly.
"Right.. follow me then!" Kaori smiles, laughing silently regarding Muichiro's actions.
"Ok..."

The two slayers went back to the butterfly estate, Muichiro insisting that Kaori should get her scratch treated. Kaori sat down on the bed while Shinobu wiped her small scar using an alcohol wipe, making her hiss in pain.
"Oh my~! You guys slayed a lower moon? And this small scratch is the only injury you guys have?" Shinobu repeated their stories, eyeing Kaori while she applied some medicine to her scratch.
"That's right, Shinobu-san. It was lower moon 7" Kaori smiled, "I was glad that it wasn't the strongest rank there is in the Twelve Kizukis, otherwise both Muichiro-kun and I might have a tough time slaying them."
"Ah~ I see~! It's surprising enough that the two of you can slay a lower moon easily though.. for your first mission too." Shinobu complimented.
"What a shame I must say. How can the demon scratch your soft cheeks? They feel like soft dumplings to be truthful!" Shinobu sighed, caressing Kaori's cheeks.
"Ahhh, stop that Shinobu-san! I'm starting to crave some dangos..." Kaori whined, thinking about the chewy texture of the simple sweet dessert she likes to eat. Shinobu raised her eyebrows slightly.
"Kaori-san likes dangos? That's surprising, I thought you don't like sweets." The black-purple-haired woman exclaimed, "You declined Kanroji-san's sakura mochi that she made for you to celebrate your passing in the final selection."
"Well... she gifted me tons of sakura mochi and thinking about eating that much made me want to puke... and I like dangos more," Kaori answered making Shinobu nod.
"Is that so?" Shinobu smiled once again, "I'm starting to have a feeling that the both of you might grow up becoming hashiras."
"I hope so but I'm not at that level yet." Kaori laughs awkwardly as Shinobu softly attaches a small bandage to cover the small scratch. Kaori glanced beside her, spotting Muichiro who was busy daydreaming.
"But Muichiro-kun is admirable too! He was calm during the whole situation, making it easier to make a plan during tight situations." Kaori praised, catching the long-haired boy's attention – turning towards the white-haired beauty.
"Me?" Muichiro exclaimed, tilting his head to the side while pointing at himself with a confused look.
"Yeah. We work well with each other, don't you think? I hope for the future missions, we can work together again." Kaori ranted, smiling at the end while Muichiro's eyes softened for a moment.
"Thank you.. I also.. wish to have more missions with you.." He muttered.
"Oh~? It looks like you guys have gotten closer after the mission." Shinobu chimed, smiling at the two young slayers.
"I guess so, Shinobu-san.. Oh wait- Muichiro-kun? I promised to treat you to some food, didn't I? What do you want to have at this moment?" Kaori questioned, turning towards Muichiro who furrowed his eyebrows – trying to think.
"Ah Kaori-san, I don't think-"
"Dangos." Muichiro blurted, surprising the two female slayers in the room. Shinobu's eyes widened in shock, realizing that Muichiro was listening to their conversation and remembered what dessert Kaori enjoyed.
"Dangos? Do you like dangos too? That makes the both of us then!" Kaori chirped bubbly, getting up from the bed and taking Muichiro by the hand. "Let's go, I know a place selling delicious dangos."
"Shinobu-san, the two of us will get going now!" Kaori exclaimed, pulling Muichiro up and waving goodbye to the Insect Hashira.
"Take care~!" She smiles as Kaori proceeds to run out of the room, still dragging Muichiro by the hand. After the two were gone, the corner of her mouth twitched as she started tidying after herself.
'This is strange... Tokito-san is starting to remember things.. but that sudden? Is it because of Kaori-san's presence.? If it is because of her, I do hope that Tokito-san will start to remember fragments of his past..'
