It's the Spanish Grand Prix and I was shitting myself. Today was qualifying and I was disappointed in myself with how things went in Canada, even though I got p2 I just knew I could have done better. I was glad at least this race my family were here to support me, my mum hasn't been able to make it to a race so far and I was happy she was here today. Maddie was also here with her two sister, I was scared to meet them but it was going to happen one day. But it sorted of added to the pressure since I wanted to show them I was good enough.
"Are you ready?" I ask Maddie, coming out of the hotel bathroom. I've realised she takes forever to get ready.
"Yeah just grabbing my bag." She shouts from the bedroom. I was nervous about Maddie meeting my mum and sisters, she already my dad and brother but it was still nerve wrecking.
"We need to leave now or Zak is going to be up my arse." I tell her, waiting my the door. My phone has been buzzing for the past ten minutes, my mum and sisters were so excited to meet Maddie they haven't stopped talking about it.
Maddie finally walks out and I'm always in such shock at how beautiful she was. She could literally wear a bin bag and look good.
"My sisters are already there." She says, texting someone. Probably her sisters.
"Okay let's go."

I got pole position! For the second time in my career I'm starting first in tomorrow's race and I don't think I've ever been so happy other than winning in Miami. Tomorrow I finally have a chance to prove to everyone that I can be world champion.
Maddie was standing with Max and Pietra waiting for me to get out of the car and I know we said our relationship was going to be private but as soon as I got out the car, I ran towards her. I picked her up and span her around and she burst out laughing.
"Congratulations chéri." She grins, holding on to my helmet. "So proud of you."
"Congrats mate." I hear Max say as I place Maddie back on the ground.
"Thanks guys, let me go see the team and I'll be back." I tell them, before going to the team.

After the post quail interviews, I wanted go to my family. They were all in the paddock waiting for me and wanted to meet Maddie, so I went to go get her first. She was with her sisters standing to aside talking. It was her sister Charlotte who spotted me first. I hadn't met Charlotte and Josephine yet, I was pulled away as soon as we got to the track so I didn't have time to greet them.
"Ladies, how are we doing?" I ask, walking up behind Maddie and wrapping my arms around her.
"Putain, Lando you scared me!" Maddie jumps turning around to face me, clutching her chest. Her accent more prominent which makes me grin brightly.
