After practice, Caitlin and Lilly made their way back to their dorm, the sun setting and casting a warm glow over the campus. They walked side by side, chatting about the day's drills and their plans for the evening.
Caitlin, carrying a half-full bottle of blue Gatorade, took a swig and then held it out to Lilly.
"Come on, just try it. It's the best flavor."
Lilly wrinkled her nose, shaking her head adamantly. "No way. That stuff is disgusting."
Caitlin laughed, nudging her playfully with her elbow. "You've got to be kidding me. It's amazing. Just one sip, I promise you'll change your mind."
Lilly crossed her arms, feigning stubbornness. "I've tried it before, and it's still gross. I don't know how you drink that stuff."
Caitlin sighed dramatically, taking another drink herself. "You just don't know what you're missing. Blue Gatorade is elite. It's a game-changer."
Lilly rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help but smile at Caitlin's persistence. "I think I'll stick to my water, thanks."
"Boring," Caitlin teased, giving her a sidelong glance. "Live a little, Lilly."
Lilly laughed, shaking her head. "I'll live plenty without drinking your weird blue drink."
Caitlin smirked, raising an eyebrow. "You know, I've heard it's scientifically proven to improve your basketball skills. Might give you that extra edge next time we go one-on-one."
"Oh, really?" Lilly said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Is that why you drink it?"
"Absolutely," Caitlin said with a straight face, though her eyes were twinkling with mischief. "It's my secret weapon."
Lilly playfully shoved Caitlin's shoulder. "Well, I'm pretty sure I can beat you without it."
Caitlin grinned, accepting the challenge. "We'll see about that. But don't come crying to me when you realize you could've been even better with a little blue Gatorade in your life."
Lilly shook her head, laughing. "I'll take my chances."
As they approached their dorm, the playful banter continued, the light-hearted argument a testament to their close bond. Caitlin, still holding onto her blue Gatorade, finally conceded.
"Alright, fine. But don't say I didn't try to help you reach your full potential."
Lilly laughed, unlocking the door to their room. "I'll keep that in mind, Caitlin. Thanks for looking out for me."
"Anytime," Caitlin replied with a wink.
They entered their dorm, the comfortable space now fully feeling like home to Lilly. She tossed her bag onto her bed and turned to Caitlin, who was still sipping her Gatorade with a satisfied look.
"You really do love that stuff, don't you?" Lilly said, shaking her head in amusement.
Caitlin nodded, grinning. "I really do. But I guess I can respect your right to have terrible taste."
Lilly laughed, settling onto her bed. "Thanks, I appreciate that."
As they settled into their dorm room, Lilly grabbed a towel and some clean clothes, ready to wash off the sweat from practice.
"I'm gonna hop in the shower," she said, heading toward the bathroom.
Caitlin, lounging on her bed, gave her a pouty look. "Without me?"
