This little light of mine

This little light of mine

Am gonna let it shine

Let it shine, let it shine

I sang loudly alone with the choristers and the church members. Marcus was right about another thing. I felt alone and I didn't know I was alone until I was with my people. I danced and jumped with joy and happiness as different Nigerian songs in both English, Yoruba and igbo was been sang. The prayer session was highly powerful and the sermon was amazing. During the newcomers' session, I was warmly welcomed and at the end of the church service, different people introduced themselves to me. I was pretty sure that if Alice came into the church with me, she won't allow me to meet so many people

One particular young slim pretty lady with light skin walked towards me in her expensive lace. Round faced and slightly tall with a wedding ring on her left fourth finger

"Hello, I am Dr. Joy Eruese" she introduced her to me and hugged me

"Please call me Bewa" I said as I gently pulled from the hug

"It is nice to have you among us"

"I am glad to be here too"

"And I see you girl, rocking that ass"

Oh really, I was?

"I am sorry, I didn't mean..."

"Girl, you don't have to apologize for rocking your ass, I mean what is the point of having it in the first place if you can't use it" she cut in "I am just appreciating the goodness of God in your life"

Okay! It seems this lady is from the hood

"Thank you"

"How has life been treating you in France" she asked softly

"The first few months were a bit shaking but now I am getting the hang of it"

"I feel you, Marcus made it sound like you almost died"

"You know Marcus?" I asked in surprise

"Yes, he is in our band, he asked me to keep an eye on you and make you feel welcome. He said France has not exactly be treating you well"

I felt an aching warmth in my body at the unwanted affection I keep receiving from this stranger. Why can't my husband be like him?

"So Marcus is in a band?" I muttered sassily

"Yeah and very a good drummer"

"Oh wow! I never thought an A-lister footballer will be a drummer"

I saw her shoulder drop as her eyes held so much pain

"I know he is rich and all but you don't know how choking been in the limelight can" she explained

"So he is a band to de-stress?"

"Yes, that is the way to put it. We all have tedious jobs, so we come together twice a month to sing and dance"

"Like the kegitte?"

"Yes, like the Kegitte but without palm wine" we both chuckled "You should check us out, our band can use a good dancer like you"

As tempting as the offer sounds, I can't be around Marcus. For my marriage and Alice's sanity
