A/N: you're welcome in advance.

Slughorn's stupid Christmas party was tonight, and Annabeth was trying very hard not to kill someone. She'd been approached by not one, not two, but a grand total of twenty seven boys asking to be her date. Which made her even more ecstatic when she got back to the Slytherin common room after classes to find her very own Percy Jackson, though it looked like he'd just punched Blaise Zabini in the face.

There was a ring of excited Slytherins around the two of them, cool and not-cool alike, and all of them looked ready to see a fight. Annabeth noticed a wide-eyed second year right at the front of the circle rubbing his upper arm, and she smiled. Of course Percy would start a fight to protect someone.

"Huh," Vera said from where she was standing next to Annabeth. "Look who it is."

"Looks like he started a fight," Freddie noted.

Annabeth grinned, suppressing the urge to run to him and miss Zabini getting beat up. "I love him so much."

"Say that again, Zabini," Percy said in a low voice, a hurricane swirling in his eyes. "Say it again and watch what happens."

"I'm not going to repeat myself to a tainted-blood freak like you," Zabini said angrily, clutching his bleeding nose.

"That's a smart move," Percy said with a humorless laugh. "Must feel weird, huh?"

"Annabeth," Freddie muttered as Zabini reached for his wand. "Might want to break this up before he gets himself kicked out."

"Hm?" Annabeth looked over at Freddie. She'd been busy staring at the visible muscles under Percy's collared white button down shirt. Gods, he was so hot.

"Fight. Boyfriend. Rules?"

"Oh, right."

Shaking herself out of her reverie, Annabeth pushed her way through the crowd until she had a clear view of her boyfriend.

"Fighting already, Seaweed Brain?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

His whole demeanor changed immediately when he heard her voice. In a split second he'd pulled Zabini's wand out of his hand and snapped it between his fingers. "Annabeth!" He said, dropping the pieces on the floor as he pulled her in for a kiss.

Annabeth smiled against his lips and pulled him closer, throwing her arms over his shoulders as his hands settled on her waist. She'd almost forgotten how good kissing him felt, but it all came rushing back now as the kiss deepened and chills went down her spine.

Someone cleared their throat next to her, but Annabeth ignored it. Then they tapped on her shoulder, and she reluctantly broke away from Percy to see Freddie tapping their wrist and mouthing, time.

Right. The party was in an hour. Annabeth needed to get ready.

Well, she wasn't exactly going to leave Percy when she'd just gotten him. She was going to spend every possible minute with him.

The stairs to the girls' dorms were enchanted to turn into a slide if a boy so much as stepped foot on it, so Annabeth just scooped Percy up in a fireman's carry and started climbing.

"Yeah, that's right! Run away!" Zabini shouted, though his voice was nasally and after he finished talking he started coughing on the blood that had gotten into his mouth.

"Go write a letter to your mother, Zabini!" Percy shouted as Zabini started to disappear from view. "Maybe you'll actually get her approval this time!"

Vera snorted loudly before opening the door to their room and leading the way in. "Nice."
