Riley pov

I was walking to school with Val and when we got to the front gate I noticed one particular boy staring at us I shrugged it off but then lunch came around and "omg I can't believe Val is dating someone as ugly as her" the boy said looking at me with disgust

I let go of Val's hand and ran to the bathroom "Riley!" She called out trying to get my attention I ran in the bathroom not looking back

Val pov

Why did Riley run away what happened, Val was lost in her thoughts then the boy who said Riley was ugly came up to her "why are you dating that ugly girl you should be with me instead" the boy said putting his hand on her shoulder "wha- what did you just call her" I said giving a death stare he seemed to be scared but actually managed to get words out "I-i said she's u-ugly" he said trying to get it together

This bitch, I thought while still staring at him "WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NOW SHES GONNA OVERTHINK THAT" I yelled at him then he slapped me "you bitch" I said with a sinister smile

Riley pov

I heard a lot of people outside some were cheating and some were booing then I heard Val's name I ran out and pushed through the crowd of people a lot of people were saying "cmon Val get up and beat his ass" when I got through I saw Val already up and the boy who said I was ugly was on his knees Val looked beat but he looked worse

He was holding his arm while Val was holding her hip and was barely standing "Valentina Ortiz" I said sounding very annoyed she noticed me and looked worried when I said her whole name I walked up to her and she faced me while looking down "what were you thinking!?" I said looking at her with a annoyed expression "but he called you ugly" she said still looking down not wanting to look at me "but look at you Val your clothes are covered in blood and so are you" I said softening my expression "I'm sowwy" she said finally looking at me, everyone was looking at us so was the boy

"WERE NOT FINISHED ORTIZ" that boy yelled trying to get up "yes you are" I said kicking his stomach making him fall back down everyone was surprised that I actually got Val to stop fighting I always heard how when Val is fighting someone no one could stop her not even a teacher I looked at Val and she was still holding her side like something was really wrong "Val lets go to the nurse" I said as I walked past her

Val followed me to the nurse and we walked in and the nurse was very worried and examined Val cleaning her bleeding parts Val let the nurse look under her shirt and Val had a huge bruise on her hip like that's the main place he hit her

"Val" I said very worried for her "I'm fine" she said looking away the nurse let us go with something's to help Val to heal "can I come over to yours Val" I asked looking at her she agreed and we walked to her house after school 

I said hi to her parents and they asked what happened to Val, Val told them what happened and that she was okay "Val won tho" I said looking at her parents her parents were fine with it cause she won and she had a good reason (she said he slapped her which he did)

Me and Val went to her room I hugged her and she leaned into me "I'm sorry" she said snuggling into my neck "it's alright Val" I said kissing the top of her head "just don't do something like that again and don't scare me like that again" I said carefully hugging her so I don't touch her bruise "I still have to go to hockey practice tho" she said getting up and looking at me "no" I straight up said right after her

"But whyyyy" she said sitting on her bean bag when she sits down on her bean bag I tower over her, so i make her sit on it when she's in trouble and she already knew she was in trouble so she sat on it "Val you can't play hockey with that bruise or your injuries" I said looking down at her

Val looked mad but she knew she couldn't fight with me "fine" she said looking away again I pecked her lips "thank you tho" I said sitting next to her and leaning on her she snuggled up to me and fell asleep I texted my parents trying my best not to wake her if I could sleep over her house and they said yes

I fell asleep with her
