Daniel lay on the couch in Vorthos' cluttered living room, his body exhausted and his mind racing. The pain in his newly amputated arm was dulled by Vorthos' magic, but the emotional toll weighed heavily on him. He had lost his arm, and Benny, his best friend, was gone. The stakes had never been higher, and he had only four days to stop Dracula's plan.

Vorthos bustled around the room, his usually lighthearted demeanor replaced by a somber focus. He muttered incantations under his breath as he prepared various potions and spells. Daniel watched him, grateful for the sorcerer vampire's help.

"The fungi infection had spread too far," Vorthos explained as he approached Daniel. "Your arm will never grow back. I'm sorry, Daniel."

Daniel nodded, trying to process the information. "Thanks for saving my life, Vorthos."

Vorthos gave a small, sad smile. "It's the least I could do. You still have a big fight ahead of you."

A soft knock on the door interrupted them. Jessica stepped in, her face a mix of worry and relief. "How is he?" she asked Vorthos.

"He's stable," Vorthos replied. "But he needs to rest."

Jessica nodded and walked over to Daniel, sitting beside him on the couch. She took his remaining hand in hers, her touch warm and comforting. "Danny, I'm so sorry about everything."

Daniel looked into her eyes, seeing the sincerity and concern there. "It's not your fault, Jessica. I'm just glad you're here."

They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of their situation hanging in the air. Jessica squeezed his hand gently. "You're not alone in this. We'll stop Dracula together."

Daniel felt a surge of emotion. Despite everything that had happened, he knew he could rely on Jessica. He leaned in closer, his heart pounding. "Thank you, Jessica. For everything."

Before he could second-guess himself, he closed the distance between them, pressing his lips to hers. Jessica responded immediately, kissing him back with a tenderness that made him forget, if only for a moment, the horrors they faced.

When they finally pulled away, Jessica rested her forehead against his. "We'll get through this, Danny. I believe in you."

Daniel nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination. "I believe in us."

As the night wore on, Daniel rested, gathering his strength for the battle ahead. Vorthos continued his preparations, muttering spells and mixing potions, while Jessica stayed by Daniel's side, providing him with the comfort and support he needed.

In the quiet of Vorthos' living room, the three of them formed a bond of trust and friendship that would be crucial in the days to come. Daniel knew the fight against Dracula would be the hardest challenge he had ever faced, but with Jessica and Vorthos by his side, he felt ready to face whatever came next.
