ruby woke up way later than intended. she snuck into glenn's room and checked his watch. it was 1:34 pm. she frowned.
it was late. she sighed and brushed her teeth and her hair. she looked in the mirror and flipped herself off.
no reason at all. she just did. ruby walked out to feel tension in the air. hershel sat on a table and glenn was with maggie in her own cell.
"morning." ruby spoke softly. hershel , beth and carl looked up at her.
"good morning ruby. do you want oatmeal?" hershel asked nicely. ruby's head perked up. she smiled and nodded eagerly. she clutched her stomach and realized how hungry she was.
once she finished her breakfast carl sat beside her. he fixed his hat on her head. "you woke up late." he spoke with an amusing smile on his face.
ruby rolled her eyes. "yeah i'm sorry im tired" she said and smiled widely.
"wait so explain to me , you're 12 or 13?" ruby asked with a small frown on her face.
"i turn 13 in a couple months." carl said turning a little more seriously.
"oh. so you're technically 2 years older. or just 1?" she asked curiously.
"2 i think. but i think 1 i don't ask my dad when he comes down." he shrugged. ruby rolled her eyes and rested her head on the table but crossed her arms on the table before.
suddenly glenn rushed past them with a furious look on his face. hershel then came and called after him. glenn ignored and walked out. he kept going on and on about how he wanted to end the governor.
"do you miss daryl?" ruby asked speaking up after a moment of silence. she looked at him for answers as she saw his black expression.
he only shrugged. "i guess"
ruby nodded and sighed. she rested her head on her arms once more. for some reason she felt herself drifting off.

ruby shrieked as she hit a cold hard pavement , the floor. her eyes went wide and hershel was at her side immediately. ruby's eyes were fear filled and playing close attention to her surroundings.
she panted heavily. she realized she had had a dream. a bad one that it caused her to fall to the floor. she looked up and saw carl right in her face a curious look on her face.
"are you okay?" he asked curiously and backed off. ruby frowned and composed herself. "i'm fine just a bad dream. and i fell i guess." she shrugged and stood up.
