10 year old Angel.

"Angel, baby wake up" I heard softly as my older sister shook me awake. It was about 9' o'clock.

"Morning sky" I said softly, "Hi sweetie" Sky said to me, "it's time to get up" she told me and I nodded rubbing my eyes.

"Are you packed kiddo?" Sky asked me and I nodded, "Can I go see kass? Before we leave?" I asked and she nodded

"Of course, we're not leaving till around 11 baby so you can go hang out for a little after you shower and stuff" she told me and I nodded pulling my covers back and sliding out of my bed.

I walked away to my bathroom, grabbing my towel and turning on the shower.

I heard Sky walk out of my bedroom, closing the door. I walked out the attached bathroom into my bedroom,

I grabbed my jeans and a cute little white shirt with my name on it and my other stuff walking away to shower.

When I got out the shower and got dressed and put my socks on, they had unicorns on them. Duhh.

Sky was sitting downstairs, at the kitchen table with my plate Infront of hers.

I sat down with her, and we said grace and ate breakfast.

"Can I go???" I asked her as I slid on my sneakers, "go ahead, have fun and be careful" she told me as I nodded and walked out the front door and ran to kass' house which was two houses down.

I knocked on the front door and kass answered "kas!!" I said as I hugged her "angel!" She said as she hugged me.

"Hii" she said to me, "hi best fren" I said as we both walked inside her house and to her room.

I sat down on her bed, and she smiled. "I missed you!" She told me.

"I missed you too!" I told her smiling as I kicked my shoes off and laid in her bed.

She came and sat down next to me, "do you wanna play?" She asked "yeah but kas I can't play for long" I told her.

"Why??" She asked me, "me and Sissy are gonna go see mommy" I told her.

"In new Orleans?" She asked me, "yeah, I'll see you in a few weeks tho!" she told me "are you sure?" She asked me

"Of course, I pinky promise" I told her as we interlocked pinkies and she smiled "we'll what do you wanna play?" She asked me

Me and kass spent the next hour playing and coloring until we fell asleep together being woken up by her mom

"Angel sweetie, your sister is here for you to go" she told me and I pouted, "aww okay, see you kass" I said and kass pouted

"I'm gonna miss you" she told me, "I'm gonna miss you too!" I said as she hugged me and I left.

I went to my sister's car, she was putting our bags in the trunk. "Hi sissy" I said, "good morning sleepy head, did you say bye?" She asked me

"Yeah I did sky sky" I said and she nodded, "go buckle up so we can get on the road kiddo" she told me, "can we get snacks?" I asked, "of course" she told me and I nodded.

I walked to the backseat of the car and got in, i buckled my seatbelt pulling the door shut.

After a few minutes of Sky talking to kass' mom, she got in the front seat and I waved to Kass as Sky started up the car

"Don't worry you'll see her again Angel" she told me, "Promise?" I asked "I promise, it's just for a few weeks and so we can go see the show" she told me and I smiled.

For about 8 months, my older sister had been completely obsessed with these cousins from New Orleans. She just calls them the boys around me because of the s word.

Not shit duh.

She decided to buy show tickets for her 26th birthday.

I leaned back in the chair, watching as all the trees passed by for as long as I could until I fell asleep.

When I woke up again it was almost 5 o'clock in the morning. Telling me we were just about 10 minutes away from new Orleans.

"Sissy" I spoke up softly, "yes baby?" She asked me. "Are we almost there?" I asked. "Yes sweetie just about 10 minutes or so till we're home, I'm gonna stop for gas okay?" She told me "okay sissy" I said.

I laid my head back, falling back asleep until we were at a familiar gas station on the Northside of New Orleans.

"Angel, you wanna come inside with me sugar?" She asked me and I nodded, "yes, can I pick out a snack?" I asked her

"Of course" she told me, as we unbuckled our seatbelts and walked inside the store.

She held the door for me as I walked inside, there were a few other people in the store including the cashier. His name was Zane, he was our mommy's friend.

I smiled and waved at him as I walked away to the back of the store to overhear a conversation. "Scott do you even have ur id?" The one with the long hair asked.

The other one had dreads, he nodded "yeah I do" he told the long haired one. I kept walking minding my own business.

I grabbed a juice and a pack of gummies,walking up to the counter.

The other boys were already there and they had a 6-pack of beer and they were buying a pack of cigarettes. They didn't look like the ones my sister smoked.

"You know those are bad for you, right?" I said, the one with the dreads turned and looked at me and then at my sister..

"I know kiddo" he told me, as he smiled softly and waved to my sister as him and the long haired boy got their stuff and left.

The long haired boy kept looking at my sister as they left, we stepped up to the counter. My sister paid for her gas and my snacks.

"Is that Angel? She got so big now" Zane said which made Sky smile.

"She really did" Sky said as we got my snacks and juice, walking out to the car and I got in as she got her gas.

I ate my gummies, as she got in the car.

She started the car, driving to our mom's house.

I was asleep by the time we got there, she picked me up, she carried me up the stairs tucking me in until i fell asleep, peacefully in my bed.
