I stare at my screen
At the stormy clouds behind me
Work I must do
Because I can't fail you
I stare at my screen
And see the next few years of my life
I turn twenty
My mind goes runny
I look at my life
From inside my glass box
But if I break it to save someone else
I'll be cut up
Will I even make it?
I stare at my screen
And think of my grandma,
Her mind slowly fading
As she forgets who I am
I sit at her chair and hold her hand
One last time
I stare at my screen
And think of my grandpa
How he will be alone
And I can't be there for him when he needs me
I'm too far away
My mind shatters once more
I stare at my screen
And I think of myself
For once in my life
And I don't recognize who I am
I'll stare at my screen
Until I recognize the person
