*This has smut, and it's a little more intense than the past scenes in this book have been, mostly because they are married and a lil more experienced/ comfortable together
*This is just a glimpse into a day about two years into their marriage. Enjoy!

"King Jisung should be arriving any minute now, so we could-"

Minho's head snapped up. "Today?"

Duchess Evota's brows creased a small amount. "Yes, he left a day early, according to my messengers, so he should be returning very soon."

"Why wasn't I informed of this?" Minho was on his feet before the Duchess could stop him. "We'll continue this discussion with him. Some other time."

"Your Majesty-" he was already gone, and Evota shook her head with a small smile. Seeing the young kings so deeply and excitedly in love even after two years of marriage was something she loved to see.

As for Minho, his limbs felt a little jittery as he rushed through the Moon Palace, throwing out orders for his and Jisung's rooms to be tidied up and prepared with a light meal. Chan appeared by his side fairly quickly, a smile on his lips.

"Why do you seem so jumpy?"

"I'm not jumpy, I'm simply rushing to make sure everything is ready. He wasn't supposed to return until tomorrow."

Chan chuckled at his distracted king. "You're that excited to see him, huh?"

"Of course I am, he's been in Banscar for nearly three weeks, that's much too long without him." Minho blushed a little at how silly he sounded even to himself, but he didn't care. He just needed his husband to be in his arms right now. "It seems like you knew about this change in schedule, do you know how soon he'll be here?"

Chan's smile was a little suspicious because it was too innocent, but Minho didn't have the mind to read into it. "I don't actually know, I just found out about this change myself, I assure you."

Minho nodded. "Then I'll sit on the main steps until he gets here."

"If you're going to do that, why not change into something more casual? Just so you're comfortable."

"You make a good point." Minho flinched slightly when Chan set his hand on his shoulder, and the bodyguard laughed. "Relax, the world isn't going to explode before King Jisung returns."

Minho blew out a breath. "You're right, I need to relax." He switched course, heading for the chambers he shared with Jisung instead of the front courtyard. "Travel is exhausting, I just want to make sure everything is perfect for him to settle in as he needs."

"He'll be happy to be home no matter what, it'll be fine, Minho, I promise." Chan paused. "I'll leave you to change, and I'll meet you out front... alright?"

Minho, once again, wasn't paying all that much attention, so he just nodded. "Yes, I'll be there shortly."

Again, Chan smiled, a hint of mischief hiding under the surface of it. "I'll see you there."

Minho wasn't truly nervous about welcoming his husband home, he just wanted to make him as happy and as comfortable as possible to come home. And he missed him, so the nerves bouncing within his body were excited and scattered. If Jisung was hungry, a meal would be ready. If he wanted to sleep, the bedding was freshly cleaned and fluffed. If he wanted to relax by the fire, the hearth was stoked and a few books were set beside the sofa. If he wanted Minho, well, he would be there to offer himself.

Minho's swirling thoughts of preparation were abruptly cut away the moment he stepped into their shared rooms, because there, relaxing on the sofa, was Jisung, holding a small plate of fruit and eating like he'd been there for a while. His surprise gave way to a bright smile, and he rushed forward. "Did you plan this?"
