Chapter 7 - Let's Remain Professional

Aashi's POV

Today is my exam and I can't avoid him anymore. "Come on Aashi, you can't avoid him forever, at some point you have to face him, so get ready and focus on your studies no more love" I said to myself and got ready for college.

When I came into my class I saw Aryan who was already looking at me. "You came" he said but today something was different, his eyes... the emotion withing them, they were different, was he guilty, I thought. "Take your seat! exam is about to start" .... He said in a soft voice. After finishing our exam I immediately left from there and waited for the bus on the bus stop. Suddenly I heard a honk and it was Aryan's car.

"Aashi, sit in the car" he asked in a soft voice but I declined. "It's ok sir, I can manage" I said while looking elseware, not wanting to look at him. "Aashi . sit . in . the . car . right . now" he said again but this time in a stern voice, not leaving a room for argue.

I sat in his car and we were both silent the whole ride, none of us spoke a word until I reached my home, as I was about to leave he said "Are you that angry with me Aashi, that you're not going to talk to me anymore. Not even a thank you or bye. Am I that bad?, Did I hurt you that much. If yes then I'm sorry I'm genuinely very sorry, you don't have to avoid me. You can shout at me or get angry at me all you want, do whatever you want, just don't give me this silent treatment. Please" 

I couldn't understand that what he wanted from me, he was the one who wanted to keep distance between us, he was the one who said that we are not going to speak to each other anymore, so why, why he wants to talk to me know, his eyes and why his eyes are bothering me this much, why his eyes so desperate. What should I do now. Why it's so difficult to understand you.

"I'm not angry with you sir, I never was, I didn't avoided you because I was angry at you. I avoided you because.... because I was ashamed to face you, after whatever happened at Trip. I didn't have the courage to face you. I even made you uncomfortable. That was the only reason" I said looking down at my feet, I don't know why but i felt that my eyes are getting teary again so before I break down in front of him, I have to leave, but before that I should fix, what I broke.

"Then don't, you don't have to, just forget everything, let's remain as we were earlier" he said softly, his eyes were seeking my answer, as if something depends on that. "You're right sir, let's remain as we meant to be. Let's remain professional, just a professor and student, nothing more nothing less" I gave him a faint smile and left from there.

Aryan's POV

I was laying down on my bed throwing ball on my wall and thinking what happened few hours ago. I thought I was feeling bad because I hurt her and didn't apologized, but now I have apologized and she even made it clear that she wasn't angry with me but then when she said that she wanted keep professional relationship with me, I wasn't happy, I thought that we can be friends again. But why I'm not happy, why my heart isn't at ease. I don't know why but suddenly her face appeared in my mind and I looked at my window luckily her window was also open and I saw her. Her earphones were plugged and she was writing something, maybe she was studying. I caught myself staring at her and unknowingly a smile appeared on my face.

Time skip/Next day

Aryan's POV

I woke up and went to my balcony and saw Aashi. The moment I saw Aashi I grabbed my tracksuit and ran downstairs. When I came downstairs, I saw her, she was tying her show laces and unknowingly a smile appear on my face. I went near her and greeted her.

 "Good morning, Aashi" I gave a gentle smile. "Good morning, sir" she replied with a faint smile. But sir, but she never calls me sir outside of university, so I decided to ask her. "Sir? We're not in the university and you never called me sir outside of University" 

"Well, I told you that from now on I'll remain professional with you". I don't know why but I felt little hurt by her words. After completing our jogging I was getting ready for college when I saw Aashi and her mom talking.

"I'm sorry sweetheart! I know I promised you to drop at your college but something urgent come and I need to leave immediately for office" ... her mom told her with a guilt. "It's okay mom, I'll call a cab, you go"... She replied. "If you don't mind aunty I can drop her" ... I told her mom. "Really Aryan, thanks son" .... " Mom you don't have to bother him, I'll go in a taxi"... She tried to convince her mom but her mom pushed her in my car and we left.

"After this exams you'll be in your last year of college. What you intent to do after that" I asked her, trying to start a conversation, because this silent Aashi, I'm not able to tolerate, It's like a punishment I never wanted, the Aashi I used to know, doesn't know how to shut her mouth, she was a chatterbox, but now.... she barely talks to me, and it's hella torture.

"Well, I want to become a perfumiest. I like to create new fragrances" she finally spoke, a smile appeared on her face as she talked about her dreams, her eyes....they were shining.

"And what about you, was you always wanted to become a professor" she asked me, and it made me happy, after a long time I felt that I was talking to my old Aashi.

"No, I want to become a scientist, and you know I have a dream company as well, they're based in Japan. I have applied over there few weeks ago. They're World's no.1 company so getting job over there is nearly impossible. They don't have vacancy often so I thought till I'm not getting any response from there side. I'll teach as I like teaching as well."

Aryan replied with a huge smile and his eyes were shining as he talked about his dream. "I also have a dream company and I'll apply there once I'll graduate. But luckily I don't have to change country" Aashi said jokingly, as Aashi talked about her dream job and company, Aryan was just looking at her with admiring eyes, but for some reason, he wasn't able to move his eyes from her face, his heartbeat was getting slightly increase. Aryan wasn't able to understand that whats happening with him.

Both person's Pov

A huge smile appeared on our face as we both talked about our dreams. It was not awkward anymore. It felt like normal conversation like we used to do. We didn't realized that we have reached our college. I wish that the time could stop here.

Aryan's POV

I was in the classroom and I don't know why, but I often found myself looking at Aashi time to time. What's wrong with me why I'm behaving like a fricking teenager who looks at their crush. Snap out of it Aryan. After that I came to cafeteria to drink coffee and my eyes leads me to Aashi's direction. She was with her friends, laughing, gossiping, she was looking beautiful, and I felt relieved that she was back to her normal behavior but my happy mood didn't last long as I saw a boy approaching her, I felt anger build inside me. And when she smiled at him I felt that someone rubbed salt on my wound. What is this feeling, and why I'm feeling that. What the hell Aryan, it's none of your damn business with whom is spends her time. I told myself and left from there.

I was on my way to give lectures when I saw Aashi coming towards me but before I could talk with her that idiot called her from behind.

"Hey Aashi ! If you're not too busy can we meet at sunshine cafe at 5 pm." Aashi thought for sometime and then nodded her head "Sure Sam, that's fine" she even smiled at him and unwinkingly I clenched my fist. "Why you wanna meet her at cafe, and by the way who the hell are you? I have never seen you in this months" I asked being all frustrated.

"Sir, first of all, you don't have to be so rude, second - he had a surgery and was on bed rest so as a classmate I'm just helping him out to catch up and lastly you don't have to be concerned about that with whom I'm meeting outside, it's none of your business" Aashi said while looking at him, she was annoyed  by his behavior.

"Yeah! You're right, I shouldn't be bothered by it" I said a little angerly and left. After that incident we casually talked sometimes, but whenever I saw any guy roaming around her my blood started boiling. what's happening with me.
