GRIFFIN'S POV

It was finally the day. I had the widest smile as I walked into the Tremont, the prance in my step evident to everyone, including hotel guests. I didn't care. I was too happy. Nothing could ruin my mood. 

Today was the day I finally asked out my girl best friend, Harper Dunn. We had had the perfect day. We went for a bike ride, splashed each other in the springs, and watched the sunset in the front yard of the Tremont property. I had asked her out while we watched the beautiful sun sink down, and watch the even more beautiful moon arise, while the sky was painted with pinks and oranges and a little bit of  purple. 

Not only had Harper said yes, but she kissed me! This had been my dream day come true. I'd been waiting for that moment since the day I'd met her. She had helped me through all my turmoils since the day we'd become best friends. She was always there for me, and vice versa.

All of my friends at school, and even my siblings told me that it was never gonna work out if I didn't just ask her. I had put this off for a long time, not wanting to ruin the perfect friendship that we had. 

But that morning, I guess I just woke up and decided that today was the day. I was hella nervous, but I made it through the day, Harper unnoticingly calming my nerves down all day. Until the sun started to set. I realized that it was now or never. So I chose now. 

I shot my shot and Harper couldn't have been more excited. I was overjoyed.

The reason I was so excited was that Harper is WAY out of my league and I know it. Everyone knows it. 

She is so perfect. The way her chocolate brown eyes glisten, the way her dark brown hair falls perfectly no matter what she does with it, the smile that she gave me today when I asked her out...ugh it was so perfect. She is perfect! 

Not only is she beautiful, her personality is what really drew me to Harper. She's artsy and outgoing, totally the opposite of me. But her sarcasm is a close second to mine which means she can handle my outbursts. She's not logical all the time, but she's really smart and is great at protecting the people she loves. If you're mean to Harper's family or friends, watch out, because she WILL go off. 

She loves English and History and Art. She's also a beautiful competitive dancer. My favorite is her jazz and ballet, but she's perfect in every category. She also plays the ukelele, and while I think its the devil's guitar, Harper manages to make me not hate it. 

She's also super into poetry. It seems as though every time I see her, she's written a new poem. They're always so great too, she's that talented. 

She's just so perfect! And she's way out of my league. So why would she wanna go out with me?
