"Girl, she's serious this time," Nyla laughed, stretching out next to you.
"Yeah, she thinks I'ma end up taking Kevin back, and she doesn't want him around right now," you shrugged.
Your mom was a travel nurse and ever since the pandemic she had been taking assignments. The payments grew bigger each time she left the state. Being an only child, you stayed home, while she'd send money for you to spend. That summer you were outside heavy, all over New York - which is how you met Kevin.
