Liam couldn't help but shake his head when he parked the car at the big kids' soccer practice and saw both Harry and Niall standing in the pouring rain, the two of them absolutely soaking wet. Not that he was surprised. The weather had been pretty bad already when he had dropped the kids off a couple of hours ago. He had advised them not to go, but they obviously didn't listen, and in the last hour, things had gotten significantly worse.

Liam honked the horn to get the boys' attention, and they looked up, shivering. Their clothes were plastered to their skin, and their faces were pale from the cold. As they ran towards the car, Liam could see the miserable expressions on their faces.

"Get in, quickly!" Liam called out, leaning over to open the passenger door. Harry and Niall clambered in, Harry in the front and Niall in the backseat, dripping water all over the seats. Liam immediately turned on the heater, blasting warm air towards his sons.

"I told you guys this would happen," Liam said, starting the car again.

"Dad, it wasn't that bad when we started," Harry tried to defend himself, his teeth chattering. "It just got worse all of a sudden."

"Yeah, but you still should've listened," Liam replied, glancing at Niall, who was rubbing his arms to warm up. "Both of you are soaked to the bone. What were you thinking?"

"We thought it would pass," Niall muttered, looking down at his feet.

Liam sighed. "Well, next time, trust me when I say the weather's too bad for practice. Let's get you two home and into some dry clothes. I'm sure Papa will have something to say about this too."

Harry and Niall exchanged a glance, knowing Louis would probably have a similar reaction. As Liam drove home, the car slowly warmed up, and the boys started to feel a bit better. The two of them told Liam about their practice, their upcoming soccer matches, and how excited they were for all that.

Back home, as soon as they stepped through the door, Louis, who was making dinner with Zayn's help, looked up and said, "What on earth happened to you two?" He took in their soaked appearance while Zayn started laughing at his brothers' state.

Harry explained, "We honestly didn't think it would get this bad, Papa."

Louis just shook his head. "Go get in the shower, both of you. Now."

"I'll go first!" Harry said, dashing up the stairs.

Niall just stood in the middle of the room, hugging himself and looking a bit lost. Liam walked over and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Go take a shower in our bathroom, Ni. You'll warm up faster there."

Niall cleared his throat and said, "Thanks," relieved. He then headed upstairs to his room to grab his towel and find some warm pajamas. He rummaged through his dresser, finally pulling out his favorite flannel pajamas. Turning around, he sneezed a couple of times, rubbing his nose with the back of his hand.

He made his way to his parents' bathroom, shivering as he undressed and stepped into the warm shower. The hot water felt pretty good against his cold skin, and he sighed in relief as he finally started to warm up a bit.

Downstairs, Liam was helping Zayn set the table. Zayn carefully placed the plates and utensils while Liam adjusted the placemats made sure everything was in order.

Louis joined them, stirring the spaghetti sauce and checking the garlic bread in the oven. "Wanna bet that at least one of them is gonna get sick from that?" he said, shaking his head with a mix of amusement and concern.

Liam chuckled. "Maybe not. Maybe they're luck that today isn't really chilly like the last couple of days."

Louis raised an eyebrow. "You're feeling optimistic."
