The next morning, Chiron asked me to stay in the guest room inside the big house, instead of cabin 11.

Being one of the minor goddesses, Nike didn't have her cabin at the camp. But since I was claimed, he felt that keeping me in cabin 11 any longer would be an insult to her.

I didn't mind either way.

As for the 'Hellhound incident', no one mentioned it openly but, I had a feeling that they were talking about it behind my back.

Honestly, I don't blame them. The attack scared everyone.

It also made the campers steer clear of me as much as possible. Since they were too nervous to train with me after the incident, my lessons with Luke became one-on-one.

Even Clarisse kept her distance, though her venomous looks made it clear that she wanted to kill me for breaking her spear.

Annabeth still taught me Greek in the mornings, but she seemed distracted.

Luke once told me that Annabeth was desperately trying to get a quest for years. But the oracle told her it wouldn't happen unless someone special came to the camp. So maybe after meeting me, she was getting her hopes up again. That was one explanation.

But as far as I could tell, she seemed strangely annoyed with me after the incident. Even though she tried to hide it, it was becoming increasingly obvious every time I talked to her.......

That night, I had a weird dream.

I've been told that demigods often see visions in their sleep. Despite being aware, it was my first time experiencing it.

I was standing on a beach, on a stormy evening.

In front of me, a few meters down the surf, 2 men were fighting. They were muscular, with beards and long hair. Both wore flowing Greek tunics, one trimmed in blue, the other in green. They grappled each other, wrestled, kicked and every time they connected, lightning flashed, the sky grew darker, and the wind rose.

I tried to move forward, but my movements were sluggish for some reason. My entire body felt stiff.

Over the roar of the storm, I could hear the blue-robed one yelling at the other, "Give it back!"

Suddenly, the ground shook and laughter came from somewhere under the earth.

The voice was cold as ice.

"What will you do, little hero......" the voice crooned, followed by a maniacal laughter.

The sand split beneath me, opening up a crevice straight down to the center of the earth. My feet slipped, and the darkness swallowed me.

I opened my eyes.

I was still in bed. My body told me it was morning, but it was dark outside.

Before I could properly get up, there was a clopping sound, followed by a gentle knock on the door.

"Come in"

"Good morning, did you sleep well?" Chiron asked softly

"I suppose. Did something happen?"

He looked out of the window, at the brewing storm, with a grim expression.

"I wanted to discuss something with you. Can you meet me at the front porch when you're ready?"
