As we exited the Asphodel, A giant desert greeted our eyes. It was filled with greyish dunes, stretching as far as our eyes could see.

The sky was covered with greyish-black clouds. I could occasionally see streaks of black lightning between them.

At the horizon, was a gigantic black castle, hanging upside down from the sky.

"That's........"

"Hades's palace, I'd assume," I said, looking around us. There appeared to be nothing else in the vicinity except sand and the castle.

Still, I could feel powerful energy waves in the desert- more powerful than anything I've ever felt in my life.

So, it must be here, huh?

Tartarus- the eternal pit.

Which means the energy signature I'm feeling right now must be from......

"H-Hey, what's going on...?" Grover shrieked as he walked forward. No, it looked more like he was being dragged against his will.

"K-Keith...........the shoes, they are pulling me! H-HELP!"

Suddenly, wings sprouted from Luke's flying sneakers and they accelerated, dragging Grover along the grey sand.

Without a moment's delay, I activated my abilities, and blitzed after them, matching their pace which kept on increasing with each passing second.

Grover was screaming at the top of his lungs as we snaked through the dunes, faster than the eye could follow.

Within a matter of seconds, we crossed half of the desert, when a giant pit came into view- about the size of a huge stadium, with jet-black inner walls.

The shoes kept going, dragging Grover closer and closer to its mouth.

I changed my trajectory, going up the slope of a nearby dune instead of chasing Grover. Upon reaching its apex, I took out my own pearl and jumped forward.

With a precise aim, I threw it at Grover's calves. A bright flash of light followed as the pearl smashed upon impact, teleporting Grover away safely.

Luke's shoes fell, flapping helplessly on the ground.

I blitzed past them, picking them up in the process and coming to a halt at the edge of Tartarus.

A bone-chilling wind blew across my face, as I looked over the periphery, staring down into the near bottomless pit.
