Unexpected answer

Cross stared up at the score board, his hand balling into a fist seeing the outcome. His name is placed second.

AGAIN.

Then suddenly, Cross felt a hand on his shoulders and when he turns around he sees a very smug(in his opinion) grin.

"Well, how's your score this time Cross?" Killer asked Cross as his eyes scans the score board, spotting his name on the top of the board. When he turned around, he sees Cross' darkened face.

"What's wrong Cro-"

Before Killer could even finish his sentence, Cross took him by the wrist, dragging him to somewhere private with the smaller skeleton stumbling right behind him.

When they finally arrives to a hall where there's no one in sight, Cross cornered Killer in a corner, staring down at him intensely.

Killer stared back at Cross, his face having a bit of blush at how close the two of them are before speaking "what's this about?" He asked Cross.

"Why? Why do you always feel the need to rub the fact that you always took the first place in my face?" Cross asked Killer, his face equally as flushed but probably out of frustration rather at the close proximity.

Killer blinks a little bit at question, after a long few seconds he finally spoke "Because I wanted to impress you" he said.

It's then Cross' turn to be confused. That answer caught him off guard, he expected Killer to mock him or to simply give him a smug grin and push him away.. but trying to impress him isn't even the last thing Cross thought of, it wasn't even in the list!

"..I.. what? You're trying to impress me..? But why?"

"Because I have a crush on you! There's no way I would pull all those all nighters just for a test that's not even 10 percent of my mark!"

"..then what about the first test that you took when you first transferred over?"

Killer shrugs a little bit "beginner's luck I guess" he said.

That was certainly an unexpected answer.
