Reyansh lay in his bed, his hazel brown eyes unseeing as he felt the warmth of the sunlight on his face. He ran a hand through his unkempt hair, a sense of loneliness washing over him on his birthday. His heart ached for his elder brother Devashish, whom he had always looked up to and relied on for support.

"Dev Bhaiya," he whispered to himself, a bittersweet smile playing on his lips. "I miss your jokes, your pranks, and your infectious laughter. How I wish you were here with me today."

He let out a frustrated scream, feeling the weight of his disability pressing down on him. His mother's absence only added to his sense of isolation as he knew she was too caught up in her social engagements to be there for him.

"Happy birthday to me," Reyansh muttered sarcastically, his voice tinged with bitterness. "The best gift life could give me - being blind and alone."

As he heard the door open, Reyansh's caretaker Eliza entered the room, her gentle presence bringing a sense of comfort to him. She could sense his sadness and sat down beside him, her hand reaching out to touch his shoulder.

Reyansh felt the warmth of Eliza's touch and he leaned slightly into it, seeking solace in her presence. "Eliza," he began, his voice soft and filled with longing. "Do you think Dev Bhaiya will ever come back? I miss him so much."

Eliza's heart ached for Reyansh as she listened to his words. She had seen the bond between the two brothers, the way they would joke and play pranks on each other, their laughter filling the house with joy. She knew how much Reyansh depended on Devashish and how lost he felt without him.

"Reyansh, I can't say for sure if Devashish will return," Eliza replied, her voice gentle and soothing. "But I do know that he loves you very much. Maybe he just needs some time to figure things out."

Reyansh nodded, feeling a sense of hope flicker within him. He knew that Eliza was right and that he needed to be patient. But the ache in his heart remained, the absence of his brother like a gaping hole in his life.

As Eliza helped Reyansh get ready for the day, she could see the determination in his eyes.

"What's going on in your head,Reyansh baba?" asked Eliza in concern.

"Nothing Eliza..I want to see this beautiful world but when-"before Reyansh could complete his sentence and Eliza could reply him back,a phone started ringing.

Reyansh's mother called his caretaker, Eliza, and informed her that she wouldn't be able to come back home that night due to some urgent work commitments. Reyansh overheard the conversation from his room and his heart sank. The thought of being alone without his mother and now without his brother too left him feeling utterly desolate.

Tears welled up in Reyansh's eyes as he tried to hold back his emotions. He felt abandoned and lost, the weight of his loneliness crushing him. He cried for what seemed like an eternity, the sobs wracking his small frame.

Eliza heard Reyansh's cries and rushed to his room, finding him curled up in bed, his body shaking with sobs. She sat beside him, gently rubbing his back and whispering words of comfort. "It's okay, Reyansh. I'm here for you. You're not alone."

But Reyansh's grief was overwhelming, and as the night wore on, he started to feel unwell. His body grew hot with fever, and he shivered with chills. Eliza immediately called for a doctor, who arrived promptly and diagnosed Reyansh with a severe case of emotional distress.

The doctor prescribed some medication for Reyansh's fever and advised Eliza to keep a close eye on him throughout the night. Eliza stayed by Reyansh's side, offering him cold compresses and comforting words to help him feel better.

As the night progressed, Reyansh's fever began to subside, and he slowly drifted off to sleep, exhausted from the emotional turmoil he had experienced. Eliza stayed vigilant, monitoring his condition and making sure he was comfortable.

The next morning, Reyansh woke up feeling weak but better than the night before. His mother had returned home, and she rushed to Reyansh's side, apologizing for not being there when he needed her the most. She hugged him tightly, promising to never leave him alone again.

Reyansh's heart swelled with relief and happiness as he nestled into his mother's embrace. He knew that no matter what challenges they faced, they would always have each other to lean on. And with Eliza's unwavering support, Reyansh felt stronger and more secure than ever before.

From that day on, Reyansh's mother made sure to prioritize spending quality time with him, reassuring him of her love and commitment.

Inspite of all that, a brother's heart called for his elder. Not guidance that an elder provides, nor the protection no. Reyansh only wished for his brother's presence for he was  the one who seemed to make it all worth fighting for. His brother, was the one who made him realise.   All the problems in the world can be solved with a smile.
