sunmi's eyes met with wonwoo's, both of them equally surprised when she fell on top of him.
sunmi could feel her heart pounding so hard, it was as if it wanted to leap out of her chest
wtf whys my heart beating so fast she wondered, feeling the heat rising up to her cheeks.on the other hand, wonwoo was flustered when their eyes met. his hands instinctively gripped sunmi's shoulders, preventing her from getting closer. It wasn't the skin contact that worried him, but the blush spreading across his cheeks and the reddening of his ears. he didn't want to make his feelings for Sunmi obvious to his friends.
because he knew his kind and beloved 12 friends would tease him relentlessly about turning into a tomato.
the members witnessing the scene gasped, concerned that they might have injured themselves.
"ya sunmi! you're so careless!" lectured hoshi, holding sunmi's right shoulder. vernon, sitting nearby, held her other shoulder, helping sunmi up, breaking sunmi up into reality.
as sunmi tried to stand up, her right leg weakened when she put pressure on her foot.
"are you okay?" ask vernon when he notices sunmi's sudden limp.
"ah, my ankle," hissed sunmi in pain, gently brushing her sprained ankle.
wonwoo got up, erasing the moment from his mind, and eyed sunmi's ankle, now covered in red hues.
"i think you've sprained your ankle, sunmi-ya," stated seungcheol, getting closer. sunmi was seated on the couch, with her right leg resting on hoshi's lap.
"this is your fault," sunmi said, pinching hoshi's ear. hoshi winced in pain and apologised repeatedly.
"i'll go get some ice," said wonwoo.
"there's an ice bag in the freezer," sunmi said
wonwoo went to the kitchen, fixing his glasses. he hadn't been wearing them when sunmi fell on him, but the sight of her up close felt like viewing in full hd. he noticed freckles scattered across her cheeks and a slight cut on her left eyebrow, likely from a fight.
wonwoo couldn't help but smile at the thought.
"what's taking you so long?" asked dino, entering the kitchen and seeing wonwoo standing in front of the fridge.
"ah, sorry, i was just looking for it... ah, here it is!" wonwoo said, showing him the blue ice bag and walking past him.
wonwoo handed the ice bag to hoshi, who placed it on sunmi's reddened ankle, sunmi winced in response at the sudden coldness, the icy touch made her ankle tingle but a soothing relief began to spread, dulling the sharp ache.
"will you still be able to compete?" asked seungcheol with concern.
sunmi nodded and smiled warmly. "yep, i'll be better in no time. don't worry, this happens a lot," she reassured him and the boys, which is true, its a common injury for her.
after a solid 20 minutes trying to minimize the throbbing pain using the ice, sunmi had decided to excuse herself to her room for a moment to grab her hoodie.
"you guys should go to sleep. i'll join you later," sunmi said, standing to walk to her room.
hoshi was about to help her, but sunmi insisted on doing it herself.
when sunmi vanished from their sight, hoshi expressed his concern. "i'm worried."
the others nodded in agreement, knowing sunmi had a tournament on sunday.
meanwhile, in her room, sunmi examined her ankle. it was painful but tolerable, though this was the worst sprain she'd had. she tried a side kick gently, not wanting to worsen it.
