the next morning, sunmi woke up earlier than the boys. she felt a heavy weight on her body, glancing down , she saw hoshi's foot sprawled over her.

the clock read 7:00am.

turning to look at hoshi, she couldnt help but stifle a laugh at his slightly open mouth which intermittently let out snores followed by a sudden snort, that made sunmi chuckle at his morning antics.

she tried to shift hoshi's leg, but it was heavier than expected.

"whats going on?" asked seungcheol with a hoarse voice, his eyes squinting looking at sunmi's direction as he tried to make sense of the early morning commotions, he mustve been awakened by sunmi's unsuccessful attempt to move hoshi's foot away.

"this," she said, with a nod pointing at hoshi's foot.

"ah, allow me," he said, standing up—slightly wobbling and revealing his hair sticking up in all directions like a startled chicken's crest.

seungcheol grabbed hoshi's foot and gently maneuvered it back to it's rightful place — hoshi's spot.

"thanks," she muttered while she tried sitting up, feeling a slight twinge in her ankle. seungcheol squatted down beside her, gently touching her ankle.

"The purple hue's gone. does it still hurt?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.

sunmi shook her head as she tried to cautiously rotate her ankle clockwise.

"its okay now," she said, reassuring the big man some more with a smile, relieved that the pain had subsided considerably compared to last night's agony.

"lets go make some breakfast and then get ready for the day," Sunmi suggested, standing up with Seungcheol's supportive hand on her arm.

they walked to the kitchen, where they found a note from her mother. "eomma and appa are out to meet a friend" seungcheol read aloud.

sunmi puckered her lips, lost in her own thoughts as she pondered what to cook for 14 hungry zombies. "ramen?" she suggested, knowing it was the easiest yet yummiest dish, seungcheol nod with his eyes widen with full of joy.

"i havent had any ramen for so longgg" he said excitedly, almost letting out a squeal. "i'll work on the ramen" he added on the spot while looking for a big pot.

"i think we still have some mandu and beef from last night. i'll go heat them up," she said, rummaging through the fridge and thawing the dumplings and grilled beef.

seungcheol wasted no time in filling the pot with water. they have decided to cook 8 packets of ramen, which should be sufficient enough to feed everyone.

the bustling sound from the kitchen, immediately woke seungkwan, jeonghan, mingyu and wonwoo up and all of them went straight to the kitchen after a quick wash up.

"good morning," greeted seungkwan cheerfully.

jeonghan clung onto wonwoo's shoulder while mingyu sat on one of the table counter facing seungcheol.

"good morning," sunmi said with a smile, her eyes briefly met wonwoo's, with his hair tousled into a charming mess.

how can one still look so attractive...but no, sunmi...she wondered briefly before shaking off the thought.

mentally slapping the inside voices.

"what are we making?" asked mingyu, still groggy but with a noticeable rumble in his stomach.

"ramen, and we're heating up some leftovers from last night," answered seungcheol, already setting up the pot on the stove.

"i'll help with the leftovers," volunteered jeonghan, walking towards sunmi.

"i'll help seungcheol hyung" seungkwan chimed , approaching seungcheol by the stove.

"wonu and i will prepare the table," said mingyu, dragging wonu towards the bowls and utensils to bring them to the dining room.

"sunmi-ya," called jeonghan in a singing tone. sunmi, who was heating the pan on the stove, turned to face him.

"yes?"

"where were you last night?" asked jeonghan, though he already knew the answer.

"what time?"

"around 12 or so."

"ah, probably outside on the veranda. why, hannie?"

jeonghan nodded knowingly. "just wondering if the stars were particularly beautiful last night, and if you had a calming time."

sunmi blinked, slightly taken aback by the specific question. "yes, the sky was beautiful, and it was quite calming," she admitted, offering jeonghan a small smile.

satisfied with her response, jeonghan set down the leftover dumplings he had been holding and skipped excitedly towards the living room, where woozi was already awake.

"wooozziiii-ya," he called out.

woozi looked up, raising an eyebrow in response.

"last night, I read somewhere that when you like someone, everything feels calm and beautiful," Jeonghan whispered conspiratorially.

woozi stared at him in confusion. "what?" it was still too early for his brain to function properly

"do you remember last night?" jeonghan continued, and woozi nodded, recalling the sight of sunmi and wonwoo on the veranda.

"what about it?" woozi asked, now intrigued by jeonghan's line of questioning.

"I asked sunmi if she felt calm and if the sky was beautiful last night. guess what she said," jeonghan prodded, his excitement palpable.

"she said she felt calm and that the sky was beautiful!" jeonghan whispered excitedly, waiting for woozi to make any sort of reaction.

woozi thought for a moment, piecing together the puzzle. "she said she felt calm and thought the sky was beautiful," woozi repeated jeonghan's words, realising where jeonghan was leading with his questions.

"So, you think they're together?" woozi questioned cautiously.

jeonghan shook his head with a grin.

"not necessarily together as a couple, but perhaps they're at that stage of getting to know each other better. anywaaayy, it's my time to shine," jeonghan declared cheerfully, clapping his hands together.

"hyung, they're probably just friends," woozi remarked plainly, not particularly interested in delving into his friends' personal matters, despite his curiosity.

jeonghan clicked his tongue in mock disappointment. "youre no fun, go get some more sleep. I'll wake everyone up once breakfast is ready," he instructed, leaving woozi slightly bewildered yet entertained by his friend's antics.

jeonghan hyung is something else, woozi thought to himself with a chuckle, marveling at jeonghan's ability to notice and interpret even the smallest details.

despite the clear image of sunmi "leaning" on wonwoo's shoulder from the previous night, woozi had decided to remain optimistic that such gestures didn't necessarily signify a romantic relationship.

woozi didn't even realise he was battling with his own thoughts.

ah whatever

woozi pulled the blanket over his head and closed his eyes, allowing himself to drift back into a peaceful slumber.
