7. The Acceptance

After Alex left, Sofia's cell phone rang. She picked it up.

"Sofia, where are you?" Letizia, her mother immediately asked in a high tone.

"In the hospital cafeteria, Ma. I didn't go anywhere. Just a little shocked."

"I am waiting you in the car park. This afternoon there will be an event to present letters to the new ambassadors. We have to get ready."

"We? Why should I come along?"

Sofia couldn't close her eyes yet. She took her phone back. It looked like Alex's account was online.

"Hey, Alex. It's Sofia." Sofia typed carefully. Less than a minute later, he replied.

"Hey, Sofia. Sorry I left early this morning."

"It's okay. Doctors are really busy, aren't they?"

"Yes, that's how it is. I'm currently working the night shift in the emergency room."
