That evening, the Spanish royal family's dining table was attended by a guest, Alexander Lawrence.

"Let's get to the point. What do you two want in this situation?" Leonor's eyes looked at Sofia and Alex alternately. Sofia kept her head down. Alex didn't answer.

"We will respect WHATEVER your decision is. We will support WHATEVER you want to do with this situation. There is no one pressuring you here," Leonor continued.

"If you haven't decided yet, then I'll explain the pros and cons of each option."

"First option, abortion. The plus side is, it won't be a scandal, we'll keep it under wraps. The minus side is, we'll lose a future heir, considering I probably won't be able to get pregnant."

"The second option is to continue the pregnancy. The plus side is that the succession problem is solved. We will have an heir in the future. The minus side is that this could be a scandal that weakens the monarchy."

"This is not a scandal, Leonor," Umberto replied.

"Of course it's a scandal. People can calculate from the birth date and the wedding date. If it's much less than 40 weeks, people will say it's a BASTARD!"

"THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BASTARD. I WILL RECOGNIZE THE CHILD. I WILL MARRY SOFIA TOMORROW MORNING IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT." Everyone was shocked by Alex's scream, including Sofia herself.

Leonor was about to open her mouth when Letizia stepped on her foot. Leonor finally fell silent.

"Alex, you are like my own son. So, please listen first. A rush marriage will also be suspicious to the people and..."

Before Letizia finished her sentence, Sofia interrupted.

"This is my body. This child is inside my body. Well, maybe it's not yet appropriate to be called a child, my pregnancy is only 4 weeks old. But one thing is for sure, this will be my decision."

"Of course, Sofi. We will support whatever decision you make." Leonor threw a smile at Sofia but Sofia just stared at her blankly.

"I want this child. I don't want an abortion. Tomorrow morning, announce my engagement and the wedding will be held in a maximum of 1 month. That's my decision and you all have promised to respect it." Sofia watched their reactions one by one.

"Sofia, my sister. Maybe you should consider..."

"Enough, Leonor. You promised to respect my decision." said Sofia.

Leonor could only be silent.

Sofia got up from her chair. Alex tried to reach her hand but to no avail. Sofia's shadow disappeared swallowed by the corridor to her room. Now there were only four people at the dining table.

Alex knocked on Sofia's door.

"Sofi, it's Alex. You can't get married without me. Open the door."

"Come, the door isn't locked," Sofia answered from inside.

Alex rushed into Sofia's room. He saw Sofia sitting on the sofa in front of her bed. There were traces of tears on her cheeks.

"Hey, are you crying? Don't cry. I'm here. I'll be with you forever." He took Sofia's head to his chest. He kissed Sofia's hair.

"I love you. Are you sure about what you said earlier?" Alex whispered.

Sofia raised her head again and stared at Alex sharply.

"Of course. You, you were the one who shouted that you were willing to marry me tomorrow morning. Don't tell me that was just a joke."

"Of course not. I'm serious. I just feel like I haven't formally proposed to you yet."

"Oh, Alex. You're so funny. That was the last thing I was thinking about."

"I'm serious. I was looking for a ring this afternoon. I didn't know if it would fit your finger or not. I didn't know if you would like it or not." Alex took something out of his pocket. A black ring box.

"Oh, Alex." There was a pink tint on Sofia's cheeks.

"Sofia de Borbon, will you be my wife?" Alex knelt in front of Sofia. The ring box was open. A ring with a square ruby, surrounded by diamonds.

Sofia nodded. "Yes, I want to be your wife." And it turned out that the ring fit Sofia's ring finger.

Sofia and Alex's wedding was indeed simpler than Leonor and Umberto's wedding the previous year. The guests invited were only from close relatives. But that did not reduce the sacredness of their wedding ceremony.

"I, Alexander, take you Sofia as my wife and I give myself to you. I promise in good times, in bad, in health, in sickness, every day of my life."

"I, Sofia, take you Alexander as my husband and I give myself to you. I promise in good times, in bad, in health, in sickness, every day of my life."

Thus, Alexander and Sofia became The Prince and Princess of Asturias.
