The long-awaited day finally arrived. March 1, 2036 Sofia entered the operating room to give birth. Alex accompanied her inside the operating room. While Leonor, Umberto and Letizia waited anxiously outside.

An hour later, the doctor came out of the operating room.

"It's done. Everything went smoothly. Mother and babies are safe and healthy. Princess Sofia still needs to recover and will be moved to the inpatient room. To Queen Leonor and Prince Umberto, please come in for skin-to-skin with your daughters."

Leonor, Umberto, and Letizia hugged in relief.

"Can I come in or not, doctor?" asked Letizia.

"Alright, You can come in too, Your Majesty."

Once inside, Leonor rushed to meet Sofia who was still lying in the operating room.

"Sofi, mi hermanita, gracias. Gracias por todos ." he said while crying happily. Meanwhile, Sofia could only smile because she was still affected by the surgery anesthesia.

"Your Majesty, Princess Sofia will be moved to another room soon." A nurse whispered to Leonor.

"Okay." Now Leonor's eyes were fixed on Alex who was about to leave the room with Sofia.

"Alex, thank you," Leonor said. Alex replied with a wave and a smile.

Meanwhile two small babies waited for them. The nurses handed the two babies to their parents and taught them how to do skin to skin.

Baby Luisa was held by Leonor, while baby Giovanna was in Umberto's arms. Meanwhile, Letizia looked at the scene before her eyes emotionally. Her happiness was overflowing.

Half an hour later, the babies were handed back to the nurses to be cleaned and observed.

Sofia and the babies went home on the third day. The media crew was already ready in front of the hospital. Leonor and Umberto each carried one of their children. Sofia and Alex stood holding hands. While Letizia was standing at the very end waving her hand.

"How are you feeling, Your Royal Highness?" asked a reporter.

"I feel so relieved that the delivery went smoothly. Thank you for your prayers and support," Sofia replied with a big smile.

Then the reporter turned to the couple Leonor and Umberto.

"How are your little princesses, Your Majesty? Have you decided on their names?"

Leonor looked at Umberto for permission to announce their child's name. Umberto nodded.

"Our two daughters are safe and healthy. We are grateful that everything went smoothly. We named them Luisa and Giovanna. This is Luisa. And that is Giovanna," answered Leonor while pointing to the baby held by Umberto.

"Then which one is the heir?"

"Luisa is the heir. But we hope both of them will continue to support each other for this kingdom. Like me and Sofia." explained Leonor.

"So, Luisa is the Princess of Asturias dan Giovanna is the Infanta of Spain?"

"Right" now Umberto answered.

The media crews applauded loudly. They shouted the names of the little princesses.

Viva Princesa Luisa!

Viva Infanta Giovanna!

Three months later, the baptism of the princesses took place. In late spring, the baptism was held outdoors in the gardens of the Zarzuela Palace. The Archbishop of Madrid, Father Antonio Rouco Varela, presided over the ceremony.

Leonor and Umberto chose their closest relatives as godparents for their child. Sofia and Alex became godparents for baby Luisa. Meanwhile, Umberto's cousin, Prince Boris of Bulgaria and Leonor's cousin, Victoria de Marichalar became godparents for baby Giovanna.

In keeping with their godparents' names, Luisa was given the name Alejandra (female version of Alexander, her godfather) as her middle name. Giovanna received the middle name Victoria like her godmother, Victoria de Marichalar.
