Her innocent laughter echoed in the silent hall, tracing the cold walls and leaving her warmth to spread across every known corner of that lonely abyss of daily rush, amidst the various cries of pain and sorrow, her cackles were vibrant, like a sight of relief in a stormy night, like a rainbow emerging after heavy rain, she was the epitome of peace and euphoria in that very mansion that screamed terror for outsiders, it was only her home that she sang freely like a nightingale, her very sight was enough to put our throbbing minds at rest, all we wished was her smile to last forever but the daily exhaustion and the clutches of the cruelty of the corruption of this monstrous world that snatched our sanity from our souls, and left us turning into the demons we never were, to turn blind and absorbed in the very selfishness of our aim. Power, greed and fame tied us in an inescapable knot, turning us to coldness, that threatened to freeze her warmth, that left painful hollows between all of us, distancing us, breaking us apart, forming a thick line between us, but she being the fighter she was, she still tried to crawl, to reach the shore where we stood but before we had opened our arms, she had slipped in the waves of darkness, and vanished from our sight, leaving us cold and shivering, with nothing but her memories to cry for, to beg for, to carry on...

╏ ╏FLASHBACK ╏╏

TAEHYUNG'S POV-

"Sir that woman is following us again." I rolled my eyes before checking the mirror, there she was, the crazy so-called mother running everywhere we went, it's been weeks since she had turned totally insane and runs behind our car the moment we go out, her son was caught in a drug case and like the coward he was, he fleed the city and only with the help of my men the police was able to catch him, but before we had handed him over to the police, I had killed him.

Ask why? Why not?

Cowards and liars like him don't deserve to exist, do they?

I kept staring at her running figure, the tears that flew from her eyes and the voice of desperation leaving her throat and mixing with her painful cries, it angered me that she was crying for a bastard who didn't give a damn fuck about her.

I cursed under my breath when suddenly a car hit her frail body, causing her to fall with a thud, "Stop." I commanded before rushing out and approaching the woman.

A wave of relief passed through my veins when she stood up on her feet and without caring to yell at the person who almost killed her, she marched towards me and held my collar, glaring at me with full rage.

"YOU KILLED MY SON! YOU BASTARD! I WILL KILL YOU. I WILL-" I pushed her away with a slight force and she stumbled on her feet, "If you don't wish to fucking die and join your son in hell then shut the fuck up and stop following me everywhere!" I pressed out, keeping my composer calm but my eyes shooting daggers into her soul.

"HELL!? YOU TALK ABOUT HELL? HELL IS WHERE THE DEVIL LIVES AND YOU. ARE THE DEVIL. YOU ARE THE MONSTER WHO TURNED OUR LIVES INTO A LIVING HELL. YOU FUCKING KILLED MY ONLY DARN SON." She screamed at the top of her lungs, her voice turning horribly hoarse.
