Agust D's POV

The next day, I sent Suga off to work with a kiss. He left looking reassured, which made me feel good knowing I had things under control.

After he left, I took Sugar, our cat, to the vet because she'd been behaving very strangely lately. When we got there, the vet examined her thoroughly and finally gave me the news: Sugar was pregnant and almost ready to give birth, just a couple of weeks away.

That evening, Suga came back home, looking tired but happy to see me. I felt a bit anxious, knowing I had some big news to share.

"Hey," he said, walking over to me. "How was your day?"

I smiled, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "It was... eventful," I replied. "I took Sugar to the vet today."

"Oh?" he asked, his expression turning worried. "Is she okay?"

"She's more than okay," I said, grinning now. "She's pregnant and almost ready to give birth. Just a couple of weeks."

His eyes widened in surprise and then softened with joy. "Really? That's amazing!"

I nodded and pulled him into a hug. "Yeah, it is. Our little family is growing."

We glanced at Little D who was napping nearby and I said, 'He's gonna be a dad.' and we both laughed.

The rest of the evening was spent talking about Sugar and what we'd need to do to prepare for her kittens. As we chatted, I realized how much these shared moments meant to us. Our bond grew deeper with each experience, and I couldn't wait to see what the future held for our little family.

Later, we decided to head to bed. Suga, looking content and happy, went to our bedroom. I hung back, telling him I had a few things to wrap up. In truth, I was waiting for something more serious.

Ji Woo, my adoptive sister and a mafia queen, had called me earlier with a warning. A rival gang was planning to visit our place tonight, and I needed to be ready. The thought of danger looming over us made my heart race, but I couldn't let Suga know. I had to handle this.

I paced the living room, my senses on high alert. My phone buzzed, and I quickly answered it.

"They're on their way," Ji Woo's voice came through the line, calm but urgent. "Stay sharp."

"Got it," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "Thanks for the heads-up."

As I hung up, I glanced toward the bedroom where Suga was already drifting off to sleep, blissfully unaware of the potential threat. I steeled myself, ready to protect our home and our growing family at any cost.

The minutes ticked by, each one feeling like an eternity. The house was quiet, the only sound being the faint ticking of the clock. I stayed vigilant, knowing that any moment now, the rival gang could show up.

Suddenly, I heard a faint noise outside. My heart raced as I moved silently to the door. Peering through the peephole, I saw four masked figures approaching the house. I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves.

The masked figures moved silently through the living room, their presence ominous in the dim light. I stood my ground, tense but composed, my hand steady on the concealed gun at my waist. "My husband is asleep, so not a sound," I said coolly, my voice low and steady.

The gang leader, sensing the unease in the air, stepped forward with a menacing glare. "Where's the stash?" he demanded, his voice low and threatening.

"There isn't one," I said calmly, keeping my gun out of sight for now.
