"Knock knock." I heard before my hospital room door opened.

My doctor for the night, Dr. a was walking in with her nurse behind her. I don't really care for hospitals or doctors but Dr.A is cool. She's at least 30 years old, an Indian woman with long hair down her back. I noticed the lockscreen of her family on her Apple Watch.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better.. high." I answered making my parents laugh.

Dr. Aavani smiled and nodded her head. "That's good I want to relieve some of the pain. We did get those test results back for the blood and urine." She told me.

Then she looked at my mom and dad. I guess she wanted me to say they were okay to hear the results. Part of me wanted them outside but the other part me needed their support.

"They're okay." I said approving their presence.

Dr. Aavani looked at my parents before speaking.

"Okay so on the STD side of things, everything came back negative. With the blood test we did receive a positive result for pregnancy." She announced making me sit up straight.

I think all the drugs she gave me wore off at that point.

"That's impossible, I got tested when I got out on my birth control. Well two weeks before." I realized sinking down.

"Okay, at that point it could've been too early to detect. But you are absolutely pregnant." Dr. Aavani said.

"How far along is she?" My mom asked taking over the conversation.

"A month and a half." She said making me rub my forehead.

"Great so I can still get rid of it." I said looking at my parents.

My mom didn't seem any kind of way. I couldn't really tell what she was feeling. But, my dad on the other hand, I saw the steam coming out of his ears. He even started popping his knuckles like he was about to fight somebody.

"Well, that's what I want to talk to you about. The pains you are experiencing are symptoms of a subchorionic hematoma. It's when bleeding occurs during the wall of the uterus and one of the sacs around the embryo." Dr. Aavani explained to me. "In your case there was no vaginal bleeding, probably because of the birth control you just started." She said.

"So am I gonna miscarry?" I ask her.

"No, not necessarily." She told me. "There are a lot of women who carry to term." She said.

"Is an abortion safe, right now?" My mom asked.

"Yes it is." Dr. Aavani answered. "It's best to do it no before she's further along." She told me.

I sighed deeply and started playing with my fingers. I didn't now what to say. I started feeling sick and that pain was coming back.

"I don't wanna talk about it anymore. Actually, I'm ready to go home." I said sitting up.

Dr. Aavani walked over to me and rested her hand on mines.

"I'll get you your discharge papers and you can talk to your primary doctor when you get back home. I can send her all the information." Dr. Aavani told me.

"Okay." I softly responded.

She left out the room and closed the door behind her. Immediately, I looked at my dad and tears started coming down from my eyes.

"I'm sorry dad. I'm really sorry..." Icriewd softly.

He stood up and walked over to the bed. "Let's get you ready to go home." He said handing me my clothes.
