"Merry Christmas, everyone!" Mimi said walking downstairs.
I shifted in my seat and made room for her the couch. Everyone came to Atlanta yesterday to celebrate with us. My dad's side and a few from my mom's side. All weekend I've practically been hiding myself from the family. Hurrying to cover all the bruises and marks on me from Jacob's explosion.
I didn't tell anybody. Not even Akira. I don't want Jacob to get in trouble or mad at me again. I'm just shocked at the entire situation. I don't know how to feel.
"And I beat your ass in pool too!" My dad said to my Uncle Brian.
He walked up to me and opened his arms.
"I didn't give you a hug today." He said making me stand up.
I bit my lip and gave him a hug from the side.
"Are you okay?" My dad asked me.
I quickly nodded my head. "I'm fine." I said softly. "Just a little tired." I tell him.
"I don't think that's true." He said. "But I know when you're ready you will talk to me." He said nodding his head.
He kissed my forehead and walked away. My phone buzzed on the couch. I sat back down and looked at the message on my screen.

I swallowed my saliva as chills ran down my spine. I quickly got rid of the message on my screen and went back to watching TV.
"Alright everyone needs to have their pajamas on so we can take pictures." My mom announced.
I gave her the strongest side eye on the planet. I didn't feel like going to take a stupid family picture. But, I got up anyways and went upstairs to my room. I started changing into our annual Christmas pajamas. This year they were white with Christmas trees on them. Putting them on kind of made me feel better.
knock.knock.
"Hey Day, do you have a charger?" My aunt Sakari asked peeking into my room.
I pointed to the side of my bed as I finished putting my shirt on. She walked in and grabbed the charger. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her staring at me and squinting.
"What?" I ask turning around.
"Come here..." She said completely forgetting the charger. "What's that big ass bruise on the back of your neck?" She asked me.
I closed my mouth and swallow my saliva. I didn't think anyone would see it so I didn't have time to figure out an answer or a lie.
"Hello, I know you heard me ask you a question." Sakari said becoming loud.
