A week later, Optimus was still stuck on Earth. He would have been miserable because of his injuries, but Alexandra never gave him the time to dwell on them. She was always popping by to check on him and get him anything he needed. She couldn't provide much, but her cheerful and caring spirit always made Optimus feel better. She was presently stopping by to let Optimus know that she was starting school the next day, also letting him know that she wouldn't be around as often. What worried her the most about this situation was the loneliness Optimus would feel.

"Do not be troubled, Alexandra, we will find ways to 'hang out'," 

Optimus tried using Earth slang to lighten up the mood,

"For example, you require a ride to school; let me provide your transportation. We get to spend time together, and I get a change of scenery."

Thinking about what he said, Alexandra liked the idea. She would no longer have to deal with a bunch of unstable teenagers in a smelly bus, plus, she had the opportunity to ride in an alien. She smiled brightly,

"That sounds awesome! Yeah, let's do that. Besides....it looks like you've gained a few pounds from just sitting around and doing nothing all week." 

She mumbled "fatty" under her breath. Optimus laughed, 

"I heard that!"

Alexandra rolled her eyes and crossed her arms

"You didn't hear anything!" 

"That's a double negative..."

"Whatever, smarty pants!"

"I'm not wearing pants."

"Change the subject!"

Their friendship grew through their small moments of laughter and understanding of one another. The next day, Alexandra woke up early to get ready for the first day of school. During her morning routine, she thought how easy it was to have Optimus be her ride. Her parents always left for work before she woke up, so she didn't have to explain anything to them, and Sam always got a ride from his friends. For some reason, he and his buddies always liked being at school really early, so he always left before her. As for Mazikeen, she was not home that often but if she was home she would occasionally drive Alexandra to school.

Before going downstairs, she looked at herself one last time since she liked looking good on the first day of school but didn't care for the rest of the year. She wore her 'I am Unstoppable' dinosaur shirt with some jean shorts and red Vans. She decided to wear her wavy brown hair down for the day; it reached the middle of her back. Satisfied, she went downstairs. While she was eating breakfast, her brother left, 

"Later, Alexa! Have fun on your first day back, and try not to break any boy's heart,"

Alexandra Laughed

"No promises! Bye, Sam," 

Once he was gone, she called for Optimus from the front yard. She knew he had really good hearing and could hear her all the way from his base, 

"Optimus! It's all clear!"  

She waited for a few seconds, and then she saw the Autobot's form approaching. When he was a few yards away, she waved at him, 

"Good morning! You can go ahead and wait out here; I'm almost done. Just gotta finish my breakfast and get Leo off the charger. I'm not grounded anymore, but feel free to look around since you haven't got a good look yet." 

She winked and went back into the house, but on her way in, she tripped. She acted like nothing happened, and she didn't see the smile she caused to form on Optimus' face. Once she was inside, Optimus decided to look around. The forest surrounded the house on all sides except for the front. There was enough room between the house and the forest for a bot his size to walk around it. The house itself was a two-story with porches in both the front and back. On the second story, there was a balcony that was supported by pillars decorated with vines. In the backyard, there was a grill, a picnic table, a boxing dummy, and a tire swing. It looked like a good place to grow up. It was way different than his childhood environment. Once he was done scanning the outside, Optimus cautiously got down on his hands and knees, making sure not to hurt himself, and peered inside the house through the windows, he caught himself thinking,
