Rain and Sea

Storm, thunder, crackling and sizzling strikes from the whole blue sky.

Waves crash and crush, throwing themselves at the rocky outcroppings.

Sometimes the sky drizzles, pattering with tenderness.

And, at times the sea laps, the salt refusing to sting.

It's an up and down, waves rolling and heads struggling in ocean and storm.

Salt and crackling clouds glowering over two barely afloat forms,

Hoarse water-filling lungs, spitting, shouting, kissing, coughing.

Barely afloat, but they pay that no mind,

After all, is love not just ignoring the storm?
