"y/n! I got a message from Justin!" Mom calls from the kitchen.
"Which Justin?" I yell back. Mom knows about three Justins. Justin S, Justin H and-
"Min!" She yells back. My ears perk up upon hearing the last name. Justin Min wasn't a name I'd heard in the last couple years. I shoot out of my room, sprinting into the kitchen.
About time he got in touch.
"What'd he say? Is it about visiting?" My mind running wild with all of the questions I wanted to ask him about acting. Almost being a one-episode appearance in the Nickelodeon show 'Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn', I've been trying to pursue acting, so far with no luck. Advice from someone who made it in the business like Justin would hopefully set me on the right track.
"No, though he does say he would like to visit again sometime soon, hopefully when filming is done. But that's not what this message is about. I think you should read it yourself." Mom hands me her phone, opened to the message. My eyes widen as I read the whole message.
'Junie, I know it's been a long time since I've contacted you but filming has been keeping me busy. I promise I'll try and visit as soon as possible. I have an offer for y/n about my series actually. That's why I contacted you. A role has come into the series that I think y/n should audition for. It's for one of my siblings, Ryan Hargreeves, who is part of the Sparrow Academy. I've recommended her to the casting crew and made sure she was given the chance to audition. Please let me know if you choose to inform y/n and if she is up for the audition, I would love to work alongside her. Please note that y/n doesn't have to accept this offer it is too much to handle. I hope to see you all soon. Best wishes, Justin xx.'
"Holy shit. Mom, is this real?" I look up at her with wide eyes. I couldn't believe this was really happening. I was hoping Justin would give me acting advice but I never expected this. A chance to work with him in one of Netflix's most streamed series. Mom nods at me and I start squealing.
"Can I audition Mom? pleaseeeeeee?"
"Yeah, sure. You'll have to fly to Toronto on your own and live with Justin after the audition, in case you get a callback. I trust him enough to look after you." I was jumping up and down with excitement, still squealing.
"When do I leave?" I ask her. She types something to Justin and got an instant reply.
"He says you should pack and leave as soon as you can and that he will look after you until you know if you get a callback or the role itself. I'll book you a flight for tomorrow and help you pack. And I'll tell Justin you're very excited to work with him." Mom goes back to messaging Justin, finalising everything as I went upstairs to pack. I pull out two suitcases from the top shelf of my sliding door closet and emptied the entire contents of my closet to make decisions on what to take with me. Just as I finish jam-packing one of the cases with casual clothes and shoes, Mom walks into my room with a make-up bag. She threw the bag at me.
"It's got make-up, your toiletries and your skincare products." I smile at her as I attempt to stuff it into the second case, which contained some of my electronics, hair products, chargers, more clothes and shoes and my school pencil case. Who knows if I'll need it or not.
"Your flight is at twelve pm tomorrow, Justin's filming so he's sending someone to collect you from the airport. Sound okay?" I nod and look up at Mom again.
"Mom? You sure do trust Justin a lot."
"Not necessarily Justin, but you. I trust you a lot. Now, get some sleep before your big flight tomorrow." I sigh and comply, getting changed into the only pair of pyjamas I didn't pack.
Look out, Netflix, because y/n is on her way.
