I run into my trailer, still in tears, and slam the door. I cannot believe I screwed up that scene so horribly.
Fucking childhood trauma.
I allow my tears to fall harder and faster before crumpling onto the floor. Considering trailers aren't massive, there was plenty of room for me to lay down without touching any furniture. I hear heavying foot falls approaching my trailer. I try to wipe the tears off of my face before standing up to face whoever was running towards me. I turn around as Aidan opens the trailer door, worry covering his face.
"y/n, are you okay? Is there anything I can-" I pull Aidan into a hug before he could finish his sentence, melting into his touch as I allow myself to keep crying. He hugs me back worriedly, understanding the comfort I need from him right now. I stand there wit him for a while, finally pulling back when I realise I'm still being paid to be on set, not in my trailer.
"Shit, Aidan, we've gotta-"
"Nope, we're not going anywhere until you're confident enough to do that scene with me." I sigh and flop down onto the small-ish sofa. Aidan sits himself down next to me and turns to face me.
Here goes everything.
"Well, when I was six-" I start, but Aidan cuts me off yet again.
This is getting on my nerves. Let me finish my fucking sentence!
"I know. Elliott told me on my birthday when you-"
"When I ran out in tears? Shit."
So he doesn't know.
He nods slightly and looks down at his shoes. I shake my head, even though he can't see me.
"I lied." Aidan looks back up at me, confused and shocked.
Now here goes everything.
I take a deep breath in and start explaining.
"When I was six, my dad came home from his deployment with the Navy. I ran down the stairs to greet him, you know, typical six-year-old behaviour. He had forgotten something so he placed me on the banister. While he was getting something from the car, my older brother came down the stairs. He was upset about something, I still don't know what it was. Anyway, he just glared at me. Before I could ask him what was wrong, he pushed me off of the banister. It was a four foot drop down I think. My dad came back inside and started yelling at me about how much the hospital bill was gonna cost. My mom came in after hearing the noise and everyone just started screaming. My dad and my brother left and I haven't seen them since. I know it's a weird thing to be scared off but I just can't let anyone pick me up. Childhood trauma and major trust issues mess you up good." I look up at Aidan after completing my story.
"I'm so sorry, y/n." Before I could say anything, Tom, Emmy and Justin come rushing into my trailer. They all bombarded me with questions about how I was feeling and if I needed a break.
"I'm fine. C'mon, we don't wanna keep everyone waiting." Aidan looks at me worriedly again. I just smile at him and hold out my right hand for him to take. He takes my hand and tries to put on a fake smile. It's so obviously fake but it felt good that he was trying to be brave for the both of us.
Wait, how am I gonna film this? I really hope your creative Aidan.
We all make our way back to set and Jerome rushes me back into Hair and Make-up. There are some other kids around mine and Aidan's age in the trailer.
"Hi!" The six say in unison. I wave shyly at them, scared they had seen my little outburst earlier.
"You're y/n, yeah?" A girl with brown hair asks me, walking towards my chair. She sits down in the chair next to me and extends her hand.
"I'm TJ McGibbon. And these are Cameron Brodeur, Eden Cupid, Blake Talabis, Dante Albidone and Ethan Hwang. We're the young Umbrellas." I shake her hand and smile. TJ introduces everyone, pointing at them when she says their name.
Cameron's pretty. NOPE WE'RE NOT DOING THIS AGAIN Y/N!
"We probably aren't in this season but we're always here on stand by. Oh, I forgot, This is Amara. Amara Thatcher. She plays younger Ryan." TJ motions to a girl hiding in the back corner of the trailer, her head buried in 'Once Upon A Broken Heart' by Stephanie Garber. Amara lifts her head for a brief second, smiles, and puts her head back down into the book.
"I don't know why they hired her, You're look young enough to play someone her age." Ethan whispers, also lifting his head from a copy of 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Brontë. Jerome spins me around so I'm facing everyone. A tall, skinny-ish boy with curly brown hair walks up to me and extends his hand.
"I'm Dante. I'm basically the mini-Klaus. I have a feeling you're gonna be my new best friend." I smile and shake his hand.
"Hey! Betrayal much?" Blake calls from behind him, causing everyone to erupt into laughing fits. Jerome starts shooing me out of the trailer.
"Bye guys! I'll see you soon!" I call to them , receiving a chorus of 'good luck's and 'see you's. I walk back to the set and see everyone waiting for me.
"We can't do many scenes without her so we're just gonna wait. Deal with it!" I overhear Robert say to someone. Guilt washes over me hearing those words.
I'm keeping them back longer and making them fight. Damnit, y/n.
I walk up to the set seeing Robert looking upset and Jake Epstein glaring at him and Aidan.
"Sorry, guys." I mumble, to which almost everyone replies with 'it's okay' or 'don't sweat it, y/n'.
"Thank you for joining us, y/n. Do you feel comfortable picking up where we left off?"
No. No. DEFINITELY NOT.
"Yeah. That's alright."
WHAT AM I SAYING?! DAMN YOU MOUTH!
I absentmindedly walk onto the set, going back to where Aidan and I had started before I went zooming off. I got into position and give Justin a warm smile. He smiles back at me from off set as action was called.
(SCENE)
"Why would you follow me? Or tell them that?" Five yells at Ryan, who stood in front of him smirking.
"You know why." Ryan and Five stared immensely at each other before Ryan's eyes flick down to Five's lips for a split-second. Five notices Ryan break eye-contact. Ryan, still smirking, launches herself at Five, kissing him, passionately. Five tapped the back of Ryan's thighs, indicating for her to jump.
(y/n's thoughts)
That's not scripted... Is this so he knows I trust him? Clever bitch.
(SCENE)
Ryan jumps onto Five and he pushed her up against the wall. Ryan helps Five take his blazer off as the kiss gets more heated.
"Sorry to interrupt whatever this is but Ben wants to see you. Both of you. You can continue this later." Five and Ryan both turn towards Fei, embarrassed.
"CUT!"
(REALITY)
Aidan sets me down and storms off of the set. Justin and Elliott come up on set and congratulate me on overcoming my fear.
Holy shit. I just made out with my best friend.
