March 23rd, 1943.

Gunshots and explosions echoed throughout the beaches, trenches, towns, and even bridges, the ones that were still standing at least. Parrot had been separated from his platoon while on a mission, they were scanning the bridge for any wounded when they were ambushed by the enemy, Parrot barely escaped, but he didn't know about his group, mainly Spoke and Planet. Those two were like Brothers to him.

Night had fallen, and Parrot had found himself sheltered in a crumbling house. The right top part of its front had been blown off, leaving a room in the house open for anyone to see inside. Parrot was hidden on the top floor in the room furthest to the back, he was sat in the corner of the room, cradling his gun aimed at the door.

He'd been sitting like that for the last couple of hours, he was starving but he didn't care, he was more focused on the fact he was in enemy territory, and could be ambushed at any moment. And, yet again he was worried for his Platoon, Lifestealers. Yeah, it was a stupid name, Mapicc had thought of it one night when they were first ever deployed into the shithole of a country, they all sat on top of the tank, staring at the dark night sky that was lightened by bright shining stars.

That's the dumbest name I've ever heard of. Parrot scoffed, Mapicc pulled himself up using the hull to the Commander's hatch where Parrot was sat, his head poking out the top.
No, but it's cool isn't it, Parrot? We kill them, so, we take their lives! I'm such a genius. He muttered the end to himself.
Yeah, no, you're a genius, Mapicc. Tell us next, what would you do if they killed us instead, huh? Would they be the Lifestealers? Parrot asked in a serious tone, Mapicc stared at him with a face of, did I say something wrong? Silence fell upon the tank. Parrot let out a laugh, he stood up and whacked Mapicc on the shoulder.
I'm joking! He cackled, Mapicc awkwardly laughed along with him.

Spoke and Planet were both laid next to each other behind the commander's hatch, both looking up at the stars. Spoke was
normally loud and energetic when talking to people, but when he was around Planet, it was like he was a complete different, calm and quiet person. Him and Planet had been paired together since the start of the war, four years ago, and since then they never left each other's sides.
One time during a mission in a rundown city, they were ambushed while searching the leftover buildings. It turned out it wasn't rundown after all because they found houses full of enemy soldiers and hideouts.

Spoke had gotten separated from Planet when searching a hidden bunker - a missile had been shot at them, crumbling the roof and walls them, leaving them separated. By the time Spoke had struggled his way back to where Planet was, he had only found a huge pile of rubble mixed with walls, roofs, and body parts. Luckily, Planet was able to pull himself out of the rubble and to a small dugout area in the wall, he was mostly bruised, but there was something that worried Spoke much more than the minor injuries.

A huge amount of rubble and dust had gotten into Planet's left eye, it was all red and inflamed. By the time they had made it to a medic and cleaned up, it was made known that Planet was now blind in his left eye, and deaf in his left ear due to how close the missile had hit.
Now, Planet was always on edge, and loud noises set him off and hurt his right ear, so Spoke knew to condole his wildcard energy around him, and stay calm and quiet, but not too quiet.

When I die, I wanna become a star. They look so peaceful up there, away from all the guts and violence. Planet spoke in a quiet voice.
Well, if you die, I'm dying with you and joining you up there. I don't think I could handle being down here alone. Spoke added. Planet giggled, he punched the boy in the ribs.
I don't wanna be stuck up there with you! You're so annoying! He cried over Spoke's laughter.
