[third person/narrator]
His eyes with red with exhaustion and lack of sleep, he could barely blink them without slipping into a nap. His body felt like it was made lead. He found himself lost again. He should be working, not resting but he was too tired to even walk.
He wanted to scream.
But he never screamed, he always let it all build inside of him until he couldn't anymore.
His mind raced with a million thoughts but none were clear enough for him to focus on. His attention was like butterfly which sat from one flower to another. He never wanted any of this. He never asked to be born in family full of secrets— twisted and ugly.
He never wanted to be hero, he never wanted to save the world.
He didn't take responsibilities, he inherited them the day he was born. Sometimes, he wished it was easier. He sat with his head in hands, his back against the wall of his room.
Could he survive through all of that? Was he prepared to fight?
He wish his father was there, he'd hold his hand get through all the pain and when he's tired and achy his mother will hold him close to her heart until he fell asleep.
Where did everyone go?
More unpleasant thoughts continued plague him as he continued to think of a way to get out the problem.
He was hurting, he always was but now it was too much to bear. He just wish someone who appear from sky and help him get through it, be by his side. How wonderful would it be to experience love again. "Justin."
Cassie?
He warily looked at Cassie who towered over him. Her eyes were filled with worry. Even though she had gone to bed, she hardly slept. Tiredness was evident on her face too.
"It's four am. Did you even sleep?"
He nodded.
"Sitting on floor?" She furrowed her eyebrows.
A nod again.
"Now stop lying and go to bed." She scolded him.
Anger suited her so well. He smiled, extending his hand for her to lift him, she couldn't lift him, obviously but he was feeling a little clingy at the moment.
"Stop pulling these stunts and start sleeping like humans! Maybe you'll be less cranky and less annoying to others then."
"You are scary." He joked, shaking his head.
"Funny, because I'm scared." She admitted.
"Me too. But it'll be okay. I won't let anything bad happen. Don't worry. We'll find a way to send you back."
Send her back.
Another responsibility.
"Are you okay?" She asked him and he said yes.
"Are you?" He asked.
"I need a hug." He needed that too, but unlike her, he lacked the courage to ask for one.
He opened his arms, letting her melt in his embrace. Sensing her distress, he hugged her even closer to his heart. Her tears fell on his neck. "Hey, hey, it's okay Cassie."
He tried to soothe her. "It'll be okay. You're such a strong girl."
"You're a strong boy too." She sniffed, feeling it necessary to let him know.
