Percy:It was the first day of classes, for Nico and I at least. I have made it my goal to not destroy anything. Nico made it his goal to act like someone who's been to school before, (he told me the Military Academy does not count). McGonagall gave us our schedules last night and showed us to our rooms. We would be staying with the seventh years. Which is fine, but they all seemed to avoid us except for two red headed twins. McGonagall said to not worry about uniforms but I was more worried about clothes, we don't have any except for the ones we have on. Luckily, Annabeth and Will should be here sometime tomorrow or the next day and they said they'd bring supplies for us.
Nico and I sat on our beds that were opposite from each other as the others got ready for the day. It was very awkward. One, we had nothing to do, and two, we clearly aren't welcomed.
I decided to get up and walk over to Nico's bed. "How'd you sleep?" I asked Nico who just groaned in response. Which to me meant, 'kill me.' "That bad?" "No, I just don't want to be here," Nico examined while leaning back on his bed and putting his pillow over his face. "Then leave," a boy with short brown hair and hazel eyes sneered. "If I could I would," Nico snapped not bothering to sit up.
"Why are you here anyway? Demigods can't do wizard magic," said the unknown boy. I decided to answer leaving Nico to continue his dramatics. "We kinda have to be here. It's a long story you won't understand. More importantly, it's really none of your business." "You're staying where I am. So, I feel like I have a right to know." "Notice how you said 'feel?' Yeah, that means it's an opinion not a fact. You don't have a right to anything in our lives," I sassed. "My mum was right, demigods are rude and spoiled."
"For the love of Zeus," Nico sighed why'll sitting up. "You know nothing about us. You all, and I mean every wizard here including you, have been rude to us since we got here. That's why we've been rude. Like oh my gods, I feel like that's just a natural response to people being rude. Now please leave us alone, unless you are actually wanting to learn about us. By the gods they are worse than Octavian." Nico muttered the last part under his breath. The boy scoffed and went back to getting ready.
"Are you sure? He killed my pillow pet." I joked. "Di immortals Percy, you need to let that go." "No, he should've stood trial for such a crime!" Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to look at us. "It was a stuffed toy! And I'm pretty sure being launched by that onager is punishment enough." "Justice for my panda Pillow Pet!" "Good gods," Nico muttered under his breath while he fell back on the bed covering his face with his pillow again.
I waited for someone to say something but they never did. When they realized we were done talking they resumed whatever it was they were doing. I fiddled with Riptide while Nico stayed laying with his feet off the bed tapping his foot. That is until the seventh years started filing out of room. We both stood and followed.
We did get our schedules but we struggle reading analog clocks so neither of us knew if it was time for breakfast. We also struggled to read our schedule. So, last night we borrowed Hermione and Ron's quill and rewrote the schedule in Ancient Greek on the back of the parchment paper thing we were given. It took forever.
On our way to the great hall we ran into Hermione, Ron, and Harry. They so far, other than the two redheads we've talked to, Fred and George, were the only ones being nice to us. Ron and Harry were arguing over something and Hermione looked done with them. "Why are they arguing?" I asked. "I don't know but it has something to do with Quidditch I think. They've been like this since I've met up with them," answered Hermione. Nico and I just nodded not fully understanding what quidditch is. We know it's a game that wizards play but that's where our knowledge ends.
