Emillion despised the rain on his skin as he trudged up the stone path in the Misty Mountains. They had been on the road for two weeks now, and this was the part of the journey he detested the most. Emillion continued walking, following Thorin, who held the end of the chain. Thorin understood the risks of keeping the elf with them but couldn't ignore its power. He knew that the elf would be valuable in the future. The thunder roared, the lightning flashed, and the rain fell, and nothing could help the chill of the night. Emilion then felt a surge of raw magic in the mountain's stone, and he knew that something was not right with the very ground they were walking on. Emillion then noticed a flying boulder heading towards them, but it struck the wall above them. He knew this was bad and could only mean one thing: they were in a Thunder Battle, a deadly and unpredictable event that could spell their doom any moment! Emillion called for all the dwarves to look to their right and saw the stone giant starting to throw something. The group felt the ground shifting beneath them, and soon, they realized they were on the knees of one of the stone giants! Emillion was dragged along with Thorin as they ran to the only part that wasn't moving. Emillion knew that this was going to be a massive headache.
Emillion: Free me! I have a spell, a powerful one, that might help!
Thorin: You think that I will let you go!?
Emillion: And where could I possibly go in this place!? Do you want to save your family or not?!
Thorin looked conflicted. He knew that his family was in danger and that the elf had the power to save them, but he also knew just how dangerous the elf was. He wasn't even alive - he was a monster that fed on the living, a beast with no emotions to care for or feel the pain he inflicted. Thorin knew he had to make this choice right now and needed to act fast. He got the key and unlocked the chains on Emillion's wrists, and Emillion was free. Emillion then put his hands in a position, one hand above the other, and started to chant again. Thorin noticed magic forming in the palms of the elf's hands. Behind the elf, he saw a portal opening behind his nephew Fili. He called out to the group, telling them to go through the portal. His voice showed urgency as he urged them to move quickly. One by one, the dwarves and the hobbit went through the portal. The group with Thorin stayed with the elf, and soon Emillion finished chanting. He then pointed to a location on the mountain face.
Emillion: I dropped the load off in a cave near us, and I suggest we go there now to escape the battle.
The group followed the elf to the cave that he pointed out, and soon, the group walked in on the rest of the group.
Emillion: Great! So, what now?
Thorin: First, putting you back in the chains.
Emillion put his hands out and he was cuffed again. Soon, the group had set up camp, and everyone fell asleep. Emillion was resting his head against the cave wall when he heard footsteps approaching. He opened one eye and saw Bilbo coming toward him.
Emillion: So, what question will you ask me now?
Bilbo: Even a hobbit can't come up on you. I have many questions, but one that keeps me up. Why are you not with your elves? I can't imagine the woodland king would free one of his elves to wander. No, you needed a great reason to leave the woodlands, a reason why you would never go back. No, there is much more to your story.
Emillion: You are a quick one, aren't you? Well, yes, I couldn't just leave, not when my father and stupid older brothers were always down my neck. I needed a solution where the king would have no choice but to declare me an exile. Who would have thought that someone from my father's past came, someone that my father should have never crossed.
Bilbo: How did that person even get in the city? Isn't it heavily guarded?
Emillion: It is, but you should never underestimate this one, because this person will stop at nothing to get what he wants, be it revenge or anything. And that person, gave me my wings to fly free.
Bilbo gazed at the elf, sensing there was more to the tale, and that whoever entered Emillion's life held a special place in Emillion's heart. It was likely this individual had aided Emillion's escape, but the details remained elusive. Before he could inquire further, the ground beneath them collapsed, plunging the group into darkness.
