The pool was supposed to be a few meters deep, but it seems like I was swimming for what seems to be forever. I had my eyes opened and the water seems to get dark. My body felt weird, as if it was deteriorating. I saw a hand reaching out to me, so I reached for it. I can feel my consciousness drifting away before we went to the surface.
Gabi na. Nasa lawa ako at wala na swimming pool. I looked around me, nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang makitang nakahawak si Saint sa katawan ko.
“Saint!” I yelled as I lunged at him. “Miss na miss na kita.”
Kahit siya ay mukhang hindi pa rin makapaniwala. “We did it! We succeeded! You're here.”
“I’m here,” I whispered. “I’m finally here.”
“Halika na. Iuuwi kita sa bahay.”
He wrapped me in his jacket as we walked home. He took care of me, even lending me some of his clothes. We sat at the edge of his bed.
“You’re really here. Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala,” sambit niya.
“Akala ko hindi na kita makikita ulit. Miss na miss na kita, Saint.”
“I missed you, too, Nyx.”
Dahan-dahan kong hinaplos ang mukha niya. “Kahit saang mundo, mahal kita.”
He gently kissed the back of my hand. “I love you too. In this universe, and in yours.”
Sumandal ako sa balikat niya. “Paano natin sasabihin sa ibang tao? Alam nilang patay na ako.”
“We can leave. Aalis tayo papunta sa lugar kung saan walang nakakakilala sa atin.”
“Paano ang mga kaibigan mo?”
“Listen, iniwan mo sa mundo mo si Gael at Yesha. I can make the same sacrifice. I’m not losing you again, Nyx. Let's leave this place and start a new life.”
Before I could answer, I felt lightheaded. Umikot ang paningin ko hanggang sa nawalan ako ng malay.
